      This collection of stories does two things right. First it creates believable yet alien worlds and second it fills those worlds with interesting likable characters. My only complaint is that these stories are to short, I really wanted to spend more time in each world. Specifically the Spacer’s Blade and Crawlies . If you are a fan of short stories or Sci Fi (or possibly both) it’s certainly worth your time.

      There's an old saw that science fiction necessarily consists of two kinds of stories: Familiar characters in unfamiliar settings, and unfamiliar characters in familiar settings. This has always struck me as (a) generally true and (b) fairly uninventive. It is with this in mind that I was really pleased with this collection.Ms. Bellet has a talent for writing characters who are at once sympathetic and alien (or, often, aliens).
