I came across this book from a friend of my dad’s. He’s a huge guy, a body builder. One lunch he came up to my dad and started telling him about all this stuff he was reading and learning. Some of which was very radical and hard to believe. For example that there are enzymes in cheese that pretty much destroy your immune system, and that you can reverse almost every disease you have by just simply changing your lifestyle. I finished this a few days ago and have slowly begun to make changes in my diet. What do I have to lose? So I try it for a few weeks, what is the worst that could happen? Maybe feel hungry, or not. I was intrigued because several friends and neighbors have gone on plant-based diets and they look fantastic. Definitely a worthwhile read if you are new to the world of Disease Reversal/Healthy Lifestyle = Plant Based, whole foods diet. Following the actual plan is demanding and I still prefer to use Vegetable Oils in my diet, but the ideas and the DVD are very straight forward, accessible and most everything is adequately sourced. Astounding to see the results of individuals who have REVERSED Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, etc through adequate nutrition. If you are more into science and less into [...]
This book promotes a Vegan diet, which I'm not really ready for. But, there are many great suggestions and awesome plant-based recipes. This would be great for someone concerned about heart disease or cancer. I think it's good to view it as a piece to a puzzle of nutrition. Of course, it could be perfect for you or not, but it's a start to thinking about healthy eating.
Amazing to think that one can correct blocked arteries through diet; giving a first-hand account of Mike's avoidance of bypass surgery and journey to health. Basic concept is no animal products (dairy, meat, etc.) produce, rice and beans are the main staple of this suggested eating plan.
Read this, watch the video, watch Food, Inc, become a vegan.
Probably will change your life. Don't read it if you want to continue just the way you are now.Most outstanding book on health I've ever read. Easy to understand and follow. Highly recommended.
The accompanying video, "Eating", is also very worthwhile & life-changing.
