Won through giveaways. This should be labelled as romantica or erotic romance. Way too lusty for my taste. I don't mind some sex, but this was too much for me. I felt as if the characters weren't really in love with one another, only in lust. It seemed as if sex was the motivation for every character in the book. The heroine also seemed rather modern in her opinions and attitudes. This was what a lot of reviewers call a "wallpaper" romance.Readers who like really steamy reads will probably enjoy [...]

All her work is excellent, and this one is also amazing. Another winner :)
Originally published at Reading RealityIt seemed as if every single person in the village of Deal and the surrounding County of Kent was participating in one scandal or another in Bronwen Evans' latest historical romance, Invitation to Scandal. But that was what made this tale of smugging and spying so damnably much fun!Heroes have been "over a barrel" before, usually financially, but this may be the first time a heroine has been trapped behind one before. At least when the trap is not initially [...]
Typical historical romance. This one features a rake working for the Foreign Office trying to find a French spy in the English countryside by tracking down an infamous smuggler, and a young baron's older sister who dreams of owning her own stud and providing horses to the cavalry. Neither trusts the other even though they are strongly attracted to one another. The usual hijinks and misunderstandings occur before all ends happily ever after. Or does it?
Viscount Strathmore, better known as Rufus Knight, wants to redeem his family’s honor. A review for The Romance ReviewsVITATION TO SCANDAL is historical romance at its best! Bronwen Evans writes a tale of love, betrayal, honor and strength, and it kept me riveted from beginning to end.Rufus is out to clear his father's name and to rid his family of the shame they've had to endure since his father's death, but his plans take an unexpected turn while trying to find a smuggler who may hold the key to the information he needs. Instead of the criminal named "The Dark Shadow", he finds [...]
2.5What hasn’t been said already but I’ll add my tuppence worth.(view spoiler)[In the opening scene we’re introduced to the hero Rufus slurping on Lucy the tavern wench. Eww. I’m thinking I don’t want to continue reading this but I was assured it gets better. Okkaaayyyy. Rufus is a spy on a mission, he’s an Adonis, he’s cocky and he’s arrogant and it’s driven home (smirk) in the first few pages that he has no qualms about using his sexual prowess to extract informationbut under [...]

This is one of the first books I won from First Reads so I was super excited to start reading it. I usually don't read books without some type of paranormal beings in it, but this was my exception and I loved it! It caught my attention from the very beginning and I had a hard time trying to put the dang thing down.So pretty much, Rheda Kerrich is a smuggler. Not just any smuggler, Dark Shadow. Then enters Rufus Knight. He has been hunting for information about a spy to clear his father's name f [...]
Reviewed by: BriBook provided by: AuthorReview originally posted at Romancing the BookReview: Rheda Kerrich is a character that I really like! Mrs. Evans did a great job slowly showing us who she is and the events that made her this hellion/smuggler/heroine lady that she is today. Now Rufus (what a name! LOL) is a very dynamic hero. He is as volatile as a nuke in Korea. One minute he is a gentleman, honorable, the next a seething barbaric Alpha male. But always always presumptuous sensuality.Ther [...]
3.5 StarsI did like the book, but I thought it didn't flow as well as it could have at times. (I have also read all the others in this series) Some of the hero's & heroine's thoughts were repeated several times throughout the book, which was unnecessary - a bit more editing would have fixed this problem. Also there were a few spelling/grammar errors in my Kobo copy, which unfortunately seems to be the norm these days for a lot of e-books, so I usually overlook that. There was also the use of [...]
3.5 STARSRufus has one mission and that is to prove his father innocent. He has left his sister and mother behind while he finds the truth. Rheda also has a mission to restore her reputation and make a honest living without having to marry. These two determined individuals come across one another and almost threaten their goals. There is also another in their life that will work to make sure they do not find happiness.I did not like this novel as much as the first one as I felt there was a littl [...]
I'd been looking forward to reading this book after enjoying her previous 2 but this one fell flat for me. Totally couldn't connect to the H/H. Neither was there any connection btwn them - seemed all lust n sex. Particularly put off by the hero; his "rakishness" seemed overdone. The intimate scenes fell flat too; when well written they should make one melt but in this book they felt like a farce - the conversation was lame. I flipped a lot towards the end. I was even irritated by the heroine for [...]
Atlast I read the 2nd book of this series. Well, my first impression of the h/h they are like mares describes in a part of the story. There are moments that I am tired of the h/h sexual tension. The plot of the story is intriguing, but I am not satisfied about how the story went. The begininng chapters bored me a little, but as the story progress I cannot stop reading. I liked how the author connected the book 2 and 3. It is my fault why I read the book 3 first, which I should not have.Anyway I a [...]
Wow I couldn't put down the book- I read it in one day. I loved this book, it had it all action, love and a mystery to solve. The only thing I didn't like was the end because now I have to go get the next book it left a cliff hanger :) (no that was good too). I forgot to add I received this book through the GoodReads First Reads.
This was a free book from Goodreds First Reads. I enjoyed this book, although it was too true to form, a strong female, a sexy male and they lived happily ever after. Not much out of the bos with this one.
Not always good because too much misery and secrets on my opinion, but still a good reading to feed my addiction to regency romance.Non sempre di mio gradimento, troppi segreti, miserie e perversioni, comunque sempre carino e adatto alla mia dipendenza dai romanzi d'amore regency.
WowWhat a great story. Draws you in from the start and then what happens you don't see coming. Then another turn you differently don't see. Thanks Ms Bronwen Evans. For another great book. And to Ms Kimberly Rocha for introducing me to another great author
I loved the hero and heroine. The conflicts were intertwined with deep emotion and dire consequences. Nailbiting tension was relieved by beautifully-written sensual scenes filled with desire and hope. Bronwen's writing is exciting and captivating.
Ahhhh cliff hanger. As much as I hate cliff hangers, this one had a very very good one cause now I KNOW that Ms Evans will continue the story to include characters I SO want to read more about.
Review copy won on on 4-23-12.A really enjoyable book! I loved that Dark Shadow was the village version of Robin Hood by taking care of the widows and children! The characters were exasperatingly real and complex. Well done!
This was a good book. It wasn't as good as "Invitation To Ruin", but still a good read. It had a good love story and I really liked how the heroine was the one to save the hero. The villain in the story was unexpected and that made the story even better. Over all a good read.
