This book is probably a great introduction to raw food dieting if you decide to go that way. It has a good section at the beginning explaining the basics of raw food dieting, then goes into 3 plans: weekend, week and life so you can start out slowly and expand into more and more raw food. This was a good introductory book to the Raw Food Diet. It explained the reasoning behind going raw, provided recipes and encouragement. However, the whole introductory chapter was full of faulty science without any scientific references to back up their claims. I was excited to get past that part and get to the recipes. Thanks to everyone who had a hand in giving me this book. I am hoping that it will help me feed my husband. He has decided to follow this modified paleo sometimes raw food diet and I was running out of ideas to feed him. This has give me some more options along that road. The portions on how, what, and why are concisely written and point nicely to a wide variety of recipes.I try to eat healthy, lots of fruit and raw veggies. I won this book as part of a giveaway.I don't necessarily follow a raw food or vegetarian diet, but I also don't eat a lot of meat so this book was good for me. The receipes are for foods that I would actually eat and most of them are simple to make. All too often specialized cookbooks get too crazy trying to come up with a variety of tastes, but I would actually eat all of these. I would recommend for anyone trying to eat healthier, but still wanting food that is delicious.
I won this book through Good Reads. There are some very intereting recipes in here. My room mate has a very limited diet and I can see where a lot of these are going to expand what she can have. Also my boss is a personnal trainer and fitness instructor who loves to eat healthy but tasty food. She loved it too and is trying some of the recipes as well. I think this is a cookbook that will get a loty of use.

This is a great book whether you are just beginning to eat a raw food diet or have been eating this way for a while. The recipes are fantastic. It has breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts and snacks. I never knew there were so many different recipes for a raw food diet! The photos of the recipes look good enough to eat!! This book has great recipes, delicious looking photos & it gives a good amount of information on raw food dieting!
I received this book through GoodReads FirstReads. While I do not know that I could maintain this as a lifestyle, I enjoyed a few of the recipes. The pictures are wonderful, the recipes are easy to understand and include ingredients that are easy to find in modern US supermarkets.
