What I love about this story is the exotic with the touch of the familiar. Or perhaps it is because I, too, relate to a post-colonial environment. Either way, Damask's Myriad reflect the human society in which they live. Jan has her hands full trying to balance her roles as mother, wolf and leader of her pack--all while an ancient evil stirs, hellbent on mindless revenge. Damask evokes her Eastern milieu to such a degree that I feel as though I'm there, walking with her character through the str [...]

I still love how this series is different from the mainstream in that the main characters are family. That and the author does an excellent job at detail with making it boring.
