OverviewI’ve had a keen interest in studying Deuteronomy more in-depth for a while. It’s one of the most frequently quoted Old Testaments book in the New Testament and it’s foundational for understanding the rest of the Old Testament. I requested the book from Zondervan and upon arrival was immediately intimidated. It’s over 800 pages long. Aside from a few small complaints, this is an amazing commentary that blends sound scholarly insights with prophetic pastoral wisdom firmly grounded in the text. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

This is a masterful commentary on Deut. Scholarly, accessible, and thought-provoking. In leading a Bible study group through Deut this was my go-to commentary. Sometimes I consulted several, but if I only had time for one, this was the one.
