A beautifully presented book which would make a fab present for any child. A delightful way to learn how to count whilst enjoying a bedtime story. Really striking unusal coloured illustrations with a very funny rhyme.
I thought that reading was for fun! And that picture books were for little children! I didn't realise how seriously some adults take their reviews! Phew! Strong stuff for a little counting book. I expect though a lot of 3 year olds would say the same. How many people on the planet? How many books in the world? Exactly bound to be a few on the same topic eh! Now there's a surprise! Try putting any topic in caterpillars, cats what every and I am sure that there will be a few! As you can see from m [...]
Funny rhyming picture book. Great for boys to enjoy learning how to count as provides stimulus. The topic has been done before but this book treats it in a slightly darker way with highly amusing sticky ends to the parade of not so fluffy white sheep. Very striking two tone illustrations set off the rhyme
A giggle-worthy story of sheep and their misadventures. Entertaining and educational with an upbeat rhythm and quirky illustrations, it's as much a pleasure to read as it is to look at and I'm certain it will appeal to the adults as well as the children. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who has kids and, even if you don't, it's a great way to pass 5 minutes :)
My four year old howled with laughter at this fantastic little book. A great way to learn numbers, she loved the bright colours and illustrations which she described as, "Silly!" Really memorable, and really fun.
My young nephew immediately took to this books familiar layout and easy to follow format, and bright illustrations the educational value of this book really showed it's merit in helping him to memorise the simple counting layout of the sheep. He asks me to recite the book to him every night.
I loved it! Why wasn't this around when I was small.
A charming story that any child would love to hear read to them! I'd have enjoyed having it read to me when I was little!
This is a lovely bed time book for children and the story is just perfectly versioned!
An excellent read.
Funny rhymes as the girl counts sheep to go to sleep. Eclectic drawings fit the tone of the book.
I generally LOVE books about sheep. This book was just not for me. The story might have been okay if not for the illustrations! The sheep are scary and look sick. For yet another sheep counting book in the long line that has preceeded this one I was hoping this book had more to offer than some terrifying artwork. For great sheep books see Russell the Sheep by Scotton or Where is the Green Sheep? by Fox.
Brilliant! A great fun rhyme with beautiful artwork too. Kids, get ready to have a new favourite book, Adults, be prepared to know this off by heart as you will be reading this aloud to your little ones a lot! Great stuff! I'm off to read through it again
I didn't like this one. The illustrations are strange-the sheep look odd and as other reviewers have mentioned, sickly. The text involves the sheep falling down a lot-it seems to get rid of every sheep they have to fall down or run into something.
My kids really liked this book, in fact they have most of it memorized (especially the part about underpants). The quirky illustrations are a perfect fit for the silly verses. This book makes counting fun.
Rhyming and countdown. Cute.
Art is not really suited for a go-to-bed rhyme--they look bleary eyed and in need of the care of a good vet. And the rhymes are equally awkward.
2013 IRA Primary Fiction nominee Fun counting book with amusing rhymed verse and accompanying illustrations.
A little more raucous-fun tale of counting sheep.
Fantastic & colourful! Philippa, the poor lion! lolNice work on the storyline. Feeling a little sleepy!
