This book drove me nuts. I feel like a horrible person saying that. Like I'm picking on the poor boy born without arms or legs. But it's true. Maybe I'm just too picky, but his writing style really annoyed me. He frequently used an exclamation point and question mark togetheryou know, to show surprise: "What?!". And seemed to be trying really hard to use American phrases, but didn't use them in the right context. The story itself is inspirational, but I found the writing very juvenile.

I Was Hoping for a much better Literary Piece of WorkI was curious as to what was going on in the mind of this person. Unfortunately, you don't get into the underlying PERSONAL feelings, emotions and thoughts of the main character/author. The title really caught my eye (No One's Perfect) and I thought it would explore more facets of human imperfection. While you initially feel sorry for Oto just from seeing the photo on the cover of the book the end, you come to visualize him as a real and regul [...]

Nende raamatute [...]

Beautiful true story about a Japanese man born without arms and legs. Here's my favorite quote that I still remember five years later with a help of my journal: "In today's competitive society where one is always expected to excel, we're losing sight of what's obvious--when you see someone having trouble, you lend a hand. We've been hearing for a long time now about the break-down of communities whose members used to help one another. It could be that the people who come to the rescue, the peopl [...]

Young Japanese man who was born without arms or legs and is a leader in his country for a barrier free environment. It was okay, but i think it may have lost something in the translation. The writing was simply not engaging.I liked his final statement;"Even with a disability, I'm enjoying every single day. Some people are born able-bodied but go through life in dark despair. And some people, in spite of having no arms and legs, go through life without a care in the world. Disability has got noth [...]
