I am going to have to rave here. I love this series. Ms. Cantwell wastes no time drawing readers into Naomi’s insecurities. She is intelligent, levelheaded, and independent, but she has overwhelming odds against her in all aspects of her life that are bleeding into one another. It’s completely understandable and I was totally immersed in all of Naomi’s dilemmas. Ms. Cantwell does an excellent job with first person POV and her descriptive prose had me right there beside Naomi, experiencing [...]

Sequelae are often disappointing, but not so with Fissured. I enjoyed it every bit as much as Seized. From the first page to the last there is not a dull moment as Naomi and her team battle an environmentally destructive corporation - and win. The action is fast-paced and sweeps one along, and I burnt my breakfast because of it. This is not the book to read 'one more page' of when toast is in progress. The love story between Naomi and Joseph continues to develop, and the small amout of sex is han [...]

Naomi Witherspoon has been charged by White Buffalo Calf Pipe Woman to fix what the Christian God and all the other deities. It's been four months since the events in Seized, Naomi is setting up her own mediation office. It's slow going and frustation too. Joseph Curtis is a shapeshifter and Naomi's Protector. Joseph is worried about Naomi's safety and his feelings for her. Charlie Frank is having major issues with gas well drilling near his ranch only to discover that Fracking is taking place h [...]

Lynne Cantwell's Fissured, the second book in the Pipe Woman Chronicles takes you right back into the unexpected suspenseful storyline that so captured my attention, in Seized, the first book in this unique series. The author has a gift of telling a story, a fictional one at that and makes it her own. Her natural witty sarcasm keeps me laughing. Her writing style is what drew me towards this series in the first place. Very natural, not over the top and strangely enough relatable even though this [...]

Naomi has left her job after realizing that working there just was not for her. Her feelings for Joseph are growing as his are for her. There is a problem though, there is a large cat hanging around not only in the physical world but in the not so physical world and it seems to have targeted Naomi. They take a trip to Charlies Ranch and discover there are more Gods doing bad things and Naomi, Shannon and Joseph have to get them to stop again. I loved this book. I do not want to give away to much [...]

I'm nearly finished with the omnibus. And this is book number two. So far it is my least favorite of the books. It seemed to drag on and didn't move the story along enough. I think. But since this is such a great collection of books, this book is worth getting through, so you know the whole story. If it wasn't for NaNoWriMo, I would've reviewed this a lot sooner. Sad thing is, I'm not nearly where I should be with NaNoWriMo, and my reviews are getting behind too. This is a great series, and I sug [...]

3.5 Naomi lacks some oomph for me. I like that she is strong opinionated and stubborn, but where I want to see fire, I see fizzle. The storyline is quite controversial and I dont know enough about all the religions to make an educated analysis on its validity. What I will say though, is that the author broaches topics that are interesting to read about , and that I am interested in finding out how it all endsThis one had a lot more romance, and tbh, hating Brock was a lot more fun than loving Jo [...]

I read the first book in this series, I've just completed the second and I already know I will be reading the next installment. You may ask why and I will tell you it's because I really like these people. The characters that Lynne Cantwell has created stay with me and feel like friends. And I'm a fan of that. Besides, at this point, I would be seriously annoyed if Naomi, Joseph and Shannon had their next adventure and didn't invite me to join them.
