    About the Author

    Amelia C. Gormley

Amelia C Gormley published her first short story in the school newspaper in the 4th grade, and since then has suffered the persistent delusion that enabling other people to hear the voices in her head might be a worthwhile endeavor She s even convinced her hapless spouse that it could be a lucrative one as well, especially when coupled with her real life interest in angst, kink, social justice issues, and pretty men. When her husband and son aren t interacting with the back of her head as she stares at the computer, they rely on her to feed them, maintain their domicile, and keep some semblance of order in their lives all very, very bad ideas they really should know better by now She can also be found playing video games and ranting on Tumblr, seeing as how she s one of those horrid social justice warriors out to destroy free speech, gaming, geek culture, and everything else that s fun everywhere. You can find her self published Impulse trilogy almost anywhere ebooks are sold, and check out her catalog of Riptide Publishing releases at their website NOTE If you are sending me a friends request just to try to promote your books to me or invite me to release events, I will unfriend and block you I don t use GoodReads to spam people and neither should you.

Acceleration is the second book in a trilogy. Please be warned that this review may contain spoilers for the first book in the series Inertia. At the end of book one we left our heroes Gavin and Derrick at the point at which their relationship is taking off. They've had a month of dancing around each other, followed by an intensive weekend together. This book follows them into the next few weeks, through the 'honeymoon' period and into a time when both men have to make sacrifices to be with each [...]

Acceleration is book two in the Impulse series by Amelia C. Gormley. The novel, Acceleration, by Amelia C. Gormley was supplied for review by the author. While it should be obvious to say, this is a honest review and I was not influenced by any action of the author. Acceleration is the second novel in the Impulse series by Amelia C. Gormley in which I have read. Basic Plot: The romance between Derrick and Gavin continuous to unfold, as they deal with their relationship and how their pasts influe [...]

Acceleration starts where Inertia left off and Derrick and Gav are still in that early stage of getting to know each other. The sex is amazing for them both but the intense emotional baggage they are both carrying is still hanging over their heads, stopping them from fully opening themselves up to each other.I loved book one, Inertia and on the strength of it felt compelled to get book two. I wanted to love this too but there were a couple of things that began to irk slightly. First I wasn't ove [...]

There's a lot more happening here in the second book of Derrick and Gavin's story, which picks up right after where Inertia left off. Gavin seems to be doing a good job of sharing himself and even showing Derrick what he really likes in bedd it's totally hot and sexy with a bit of kink. I LOVE Gavin all toppy and aggressive!! Gavin still has that big fear of rejection though. And Derrick? Well, Derrick is still struggling with opening himself up and putting his heart on the line.cially while Gav [...]

A beautiful story of growth, acceptance and new beginnings. In this installment we find ourselves right where we left off in Inertia. Derrick and Gavin continue to unleash their lust and desires and decide to take their sexual relationship to the next level. If you read the previous book, you know that although Derrick and Gavin have been intimate, they have not had intercourse and that it would be an enormous step for them to take. I applaud the author, Amelia C. Gormley, for the way she went a [...]

~THIS ONES HELLA GOOD~4.5I am blown away! Where I found the first book in the series goodish, this one was excellent. I did not want it to end, and Gavin and Derrick are INTENSE. I am excited for the next book and man am I impatiently waiting. In Impulse book 1, contractor/handyman Derrick meets Gavin whom he finds very attractive. After spending many years celibate and alone, his attraction is both exciting and terrifying. Plus, Gavin is coming on strong and Derrick was finding it hard to resis [...]

ACCELERATION is a very good MM romance of two men trying to find an emotional balance in their highly sexual relationship. I still love these characters from book one and can't wait for the third book for the resolution I need.I'm a sucker for an established relationship romance and this is an example of why I love the sub-genre. I liked Gavin and Derrick in book one of the series as they get together but this second book is sweeter because the men have to figure out what it means for them to be [...]

Amelia Gormley’s ACCELERATION is going to be listed among my favorite books. This is a love story, not a romance, not simply an erotic tale, but a story of the power of love. I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who loves watching a love match develop between two people who deserve happiness. Ms Gormley is a brilliant writer who uses words to paint a picture and describe the unspeakable. Please see my complete review on release day, Nov. 30, 2012 at mrsconditreadsbooks/index.Bookm [...]

Part 2 of the Gavin and Derrick story was even better than part 1 IMO. The sex was fantastic and they're really starting something amazing here. We get love, sex and angst. My favorites. Now I'm just waiting for their final chapter. Please, oh please let it come soon!

I've been really looking forward to this novella. I really enjoyed Inertia and these installments feel less stand alone and more like segments of one big story. While Inertia mapped out how Gavin and Derrick first met and started dating, Acceleration shows how they are growing together and falling in love.I liked it. I'm really a fan of the author's voice. But there were parts of it that didn't entirely work for me, making it a little less of a hit than book one.So a little backstory: Derrick is [...]

'Acceleration' by Amelia Gormley is the second in the Impulse series. It picks up where we left off in the first book and we get a lot more background information which is necessary to be able to understand Derrick and Gavin.Things become even more intense between the two of them in more ways than one as they are learning to cooperate and express what they feel. Gavin, even though he was abused by his ex-lover, is ahead of the game because he knows what he doesn't want. He is still struggling to [...]

4.5 rounded up to five, because there's more story to come. When I finished Book 1 of this trilogy (Inertia)I was ready to spring into Book 2 right away. Fortunately, the author didn’t make me wait too long. (I know, Amelia Gormley is not my bitch. She should write faster anyway.)These books should really be read in order, because Book 2 picks up where Book 1 left off, and a few things will be confusing otherwise. Derrick is slowly coming to terms with Gavin’s still undetermined HIV status, a [...]

In the second installment of the Impulse Trilogy, we get what I was hoping for in the first book: added depth. Gavin and Derrick have grown from flirtation and attraction to something beyond, and while the lust is still there (boy, is it ever!) they’ve come to realize they mean something to each other.Derrick, with his ordered world, has trouble relinquishing any amount of control, which would allow something unexpected to happen, something he fears he won’t have the spine to face.Gavin, in [...]

5 out of 5The title—Acceleration—is very apt for this, the second story in Amelia C. Gormley's second book in her Impulse trilogy.Words I'd use to describe this story:Emotionally Rich; Intense but energising; Powerful; Honest; EngrossingAgain it took no time at all before I found myself totally caught up in the continuation of Derrick and Gavin's story. The road has been, and continues to be, somewhat rocky at times but knowing these two men that's not surprising. The relationship has taken [...]

My Review:I really enjoyed the first installment of this series, but I enjoyed this one even more. In this book, you get to see Gavin and Derrick more settled as a couple. Things are still new and they are trying to find their way around each other, but there isn't a question of their involvement anymorejust how serious it's going to become and how quickly. This is definitely more the "honeymoon" phase of their relationshiplots of very hot sex, while trying to negotiate the in's and out's of bei [...]

Well, I inhaled that book right down. Excellent! It gave me everything I wanted to see after the first novel in this series (and more). It resolved all of my issues with Derrick, gave me more insight into Gavin, and continued with the hot, character-driven, psychological sex scenes. There is pretty much nothing that would've made this book better--except possibly seeing some of Gavin's POV, but I think Amelia did such a fantastic job really *showing* us Gavin this time that it wasn't necessary. Acceleration, book 2 of Amelia Gormley’s Impulse Series definitely lives up to its name. In book one we meet shy, sexually stunted Derrick and out-going, enigmatic Gavin at the beginning of their relationship. Acceleration picks up where Impulse left off so reading the books in order is highly suggested.Acceleration further delves into their loving yet rocky relationship. Both men’s insecurities come to the forefront as they attempt to internally find themselves as well as a couple. Gavin, a [...]

4,5 stars, because I know this story has even more to give. (Can I have the next book now, pls?)I loved this book, and I love the characters. Gavin and Derrick are both flawed, real, fascinating personalities and they have such chemistry. I also loved that the book isn't just about them, but that the side-characters -- I find Devon and Hannah, Miss Ingrid, Andi and Lukas all being well-written and fleshed out -- are a big part of it and all help move the story along. What more should I mention? 4.5 stars. Acceleration is the second installment in Amelia C. Gormley’s absolutely fabulous Impulse series. Picking up right where Inertia leaves off, Gavin and Derrick are still in the early days of their romance. Both men bring more than their fair share of emotional baggage with them and sometimes their relationship is practically smothered by the weight of it. But as the title promises, there is forward motion as these two men work to overcome the residual damage and insecurities from the [...]

I LOVED this follow up to Inertia. It picks up right where the first book left off, and I love getting to read about Derrick and Gavin furthering their relationship and getting to read about their conflicts and working through them. I love that we get to now more about both of them, and i can't wait to read book 3!

If you haven't read the first book, Inertia, I'd advise you not to read this review.Loved this just as much as the first one, if not more. Keep in mind that this series isn't really about the plot or some extraordinary happenings. It's really about two people coming together, developing feelings for each other, and exploring their sexuality. There is a lot of sex in this book and it's all very very hot. If you're looking for substance in your next read, this probably isn't it. Not because it's f [...]

Now that Derrick and Gavin have progressed beyond the magic of the start of a new romance, the real work of the relationship begins. While Derrick continues his sexual exploration (and he doesn't hold anything back), learning to shed his ingrained solitary behaviors of the past ten years isn't as easy to do. He's not accustomed to sharing his feelings with anyone and is conditioned to repress. Derrick also is unprepared for the realities of the world and it's attitudes towards homosexuality and [...]

I didn’t devour this book as quickly as the last one. The first half was a little slower for me. The two of them became more entrenched in their BDSM-lite sexual relationship, and totally because of my own personal comfort level with that, I didn’t rush to find time to read this book like I did with the first. Then, Derrick finally told Gavin about his life, and my passion for this book changed. Wow, Derrick’s life had been so much more isolating than I had imagined. I loved how Gavin soft [...]
