    About the Author

    Jane Charles

Jane Charles has lived in the Midwest her entire life In fact, she lived in the same house until the day she married As a child she would likely be found outside with a baseball than a book in her hand In fact, Jane hated reading until she was sixteen Out of boredom on a long road trip she borrowed her older sister s historical romance and fell in love with reading She long ago lost count of how many fiction novels she has read over the years but her love for them never died Along with romance she has a passion for history and the two soon combined when she penned her first historical romance What turned into a hobby became a passion, which has been fully supported by her husband, three children and three cats. When not writing, Jane loves to work in her garden Besides trying to find the prefect balance so that something is in bloom from the first day of spring to the first hard freeze, she tends her herb and veggie gardens and loves cooking with fresh produce and experimenting with herbs Someday she hopes to build her dream kitchen so she can cook some of her favorite meals without running out of counter space.

Matthew grew up being groomed to be a minister. His oldest brother would be titled and inherit, Matthew would be a minister and the 3rd brother had no expectations put on him. Matthew is at his first church. As he is giving his 1st ever sermon, he is interrupted as a young woman enters with a big smile on her face. It takes him a while to pull himself together and get back on track with his sermon. Grace is trying to take care of her father who had a stroke, milk the cows, gather eggs, and sell [...]

What's the third so of the strict and illustrious Earl of Bentley to do except join the clergy? After all, that is what has always been expected of Matthew Trent since the early days of his boyhood. When his brothers were out cavorting and playing, he was expected to be cloistered in the nursery memorizing verses and studying. But no one ever stopped to ask him what he wanted.Grace Cooper has never been truly traditional in her approach to life. The lively Sunday School teacher sees things as th [...]

Historical English romance with a 'spinster wallflower' (read: boring) third son who is just taking up his first position as a Vicar in a small town, Mr. Matthew Trent tries extra hard to be perfect because of his abusive childhood. I liked Matthew because he really worked hard to not be a hypocrite in his life although he has to make hard choices about himself and his future in this story. I'd almost say that this was mostly about his emotional and professional development with a murder mystery [...]

I really liked this story. I wasn't sure about reading about a vicar but this was a good one. There was sexual chemistry and a sex scene in this book. I liked the hero and the heroine as well as the rest of the characters. There was a bit of mystery thrown in too. Plenty of dialogue.I listened to this via audible and the narration was great. I really like Marian Hussey. She gives everyone their own distinct voice, and does the men's voices very well. I do speed it up sometimes to 1.25 speed and [...]

The Grace character keeps getting into all kinds of trouble although she doesn't see it that way. Trent is a serious man and doesn't approve. Both aren't looking for love or change. It is clear that they needed each other to compliment their personalities. The gossip starts up as they always seem to find themselves in sticky but innocent- mostly- situations. I had a few giggles here and there. It was a sweet story.

I really enjoyed this chapter about the Trent brothers. I loved the characters, but the plot was predictable. Yes there were some grammatical errors but they were few. The only problem is I want to know about John and Elizabeth's relationship. How did it begin, since this book is the second in the series.

Matthew was raised by a vicious father to be the perfect vicar. But it's had to be perfect when he's around Grace. He has so many impure thoughts. Grace just wants to take care of her father, but when her life is threatened Matthew will do everything he can to save her and finally be the imperfect person he is meant to be!!

I truly expected more. This book was O.K. I expected more. It was just sweet. I dislike very much the cover of this book. The guy is ugly and old. I gave it three stars, but it could have been much more.

d she does it again!!!Jane sure does know how to have the exact proportions of intrigue and romance to make a great read. There is no way, we as readers, can't help but fall for the heroes.
