Picks up right where Allies of the Night left off and I mean right where it left off. Like you could have turned the page and started a new chapter. There is a prologue to remind you where Allies of the Night ended and then you're right into the story. This episode of Cirque du Freak, and that's how you really have to think of it, was short and exciting but predictable. There was really no more character building. After this many books, the author doesn't have much more to offer in guess. I trul [...]
OH MY LORD. This book was amazing. The last few chapters were INTENSE. Really, really excellent. I had a hunch from the 8th book that Steve was the Vampaneze Lord, but I set that theory aside when he was said to be a friend. Even after it was found out that he was a villian, the others saw the lord themselves, so I just tosted the theory out the window. But in the ending, this theory came back to me as a full-fledged fact, and slapped me in the face. The worst, and most epic part, was when Mr. Cr [...]
THIS IS NOT a whole bookIt's like someone ripped out the middle of the story and threw a cover around it. The beginning was pretty much non-existent (the beginning was book 8) and the ending was another big fat TO BE CONTINUED And when they (view spoiler)[ offed Mr. Crepsley (hide spoiler)] are you kidding me?? The whole fake-out just yanked my emotional cord like a yo-yo. I haven't felt that betrayed by an author in a long time. This ending made continuing with the series nearly insurmountable. [...]
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODARREN SHAN WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME?HURT ME LIKE THISAND MESS WITH MY FEELINGUGH

My heart is broken but I have to admit it it was so good.
Co to, kurňa, na tom konci bylo??? PS: Já to tušila!
Continuing form book 8, Darren and is allies become otunumbered as he find out that humans are against him as well. With the vampanze working together with the humans, i makes it even harder for Mr. Crespley and Darren to king the Lord of Vampanze. Athough he has humans agaisnt him, he also has his girlfriend on his side as well as the Chief of the police as she understnd the situation in the end and volunteers to help with the war going against the humans that have been corrupted. With this pag [...]
I feel so let down. I've been pretty much enjoying this series even though the first one wasn't so good. The writing in this one reminded me of the first one. First of all I thought they were being all original when they didn't do the predictable thing and make Darren's sworn enemy show up as the leader of the bad guys. His sworn enemy was only a protector of the leader of the bad guys. I thought it was cool they were breaking the mold and that the author had tricked me. Too bad it turned out th [...]
OKAY THIS BOOK WAS A FUCKING MISTAKE WHY IN FUCKING HELL WOULD YOU KILL OF LARTEN?? Okay now that's been said, when the plot twist took place there was a part of me that said 'wowww whatttt' and also 'I KNEW IT I CALLED IT THE MOMENT STEVE JOINED THE STORY AGAIN' but mostly 'MR CREPSLEY DIED FOR NOTHING WHY WHY WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME??' Still I'm giving a 5 star review, why one might ask. I have no fucking idea this book was one big dissapointment plotwise but I guess because I love drama a [...]
This book was fantastic until they killed off Larten Crepsley!!! WHY would they kill of one of the main characters???? I am pissed beyond believe, very disapointed in the entire series now, and I don't know if I can even finish reading the final book's. I'm very upset by the ending, and I can only hope that I'll get over it and read on to find out that he somehow come's back to life or something, but I doubt that's gonna happen, can't believe the author killed him
This is yet another action packed book in the series.Again there are many twists and turns, more deception for you to work your way through. There’s also shocking emotional moment for you to put up with as events unfold. There is development in characters and plot, the story jumping forward a lot, heading you in the direction towards where the story ends.

really really really good. the best so far!
Had me fooled there for a minute. But of course I was right about who the vampaneze lord is.
After the betrayal at the hands of his once best friend, Darren Shan finds himself in boiling water. He, along with Mr. Crepsley, Harkat, and Vancha, are framed for the murders the vampaneze were committing. Now they’ve got the humans and vampaneze wanting to spill their blood. This might be the end for Darren and his allies.PlotI was pleasantly surprised with Killers of the Dawn. The past couple of books have been a real snooze fest. That’s all changed in this book. The plot is fast paced a [...]
Ya you know the typical vampire storys where the average vampire drinks blood and can turn into a bat and fly away. But this is not one of those storys this is a story about a boy (that is at least 30) that does not age as fast as we do and doesnt turn into a bat and fly away when they feel like there losing a battle. No this is a book about Darren Shan a vampires assistent that will soon be a ex-vampires assistent. But before I can tell you that I have to tell you about everything else leading [...]
I liked the book, but I like all the books by Darren Shan. He really knows how to keep a reader on the edge of their seats and on edge just waiting to see how the problem will be resolved. Another reason that Darren is one of my favorite authors is that he can enthuse a reader within the first two chapters, that is how I got hooked to his books. He is an amazing author with an amazing imagination on how the characters should act and live or die. He has been able to capture the interests of other [...]
Oh Darren Shan how you break my heart with these books! Even though I thought I was prepared for the series to end, even knowing the plight of the hero I was still not ready for this book!Summary: Outnumbered, outsmarted and desperate, the hunters are on the run, pursued by the vampaneze, the police, and an angry mob. With their enemies clamoring for blood, the vampires prepare for a deadly battle. Is this the end for Darren and his allies? What I liked about this book: SPOILER ALERT: THIS REVIEW [...]
The vampires continue to fight the ongoing war with the vampeneze, the War of the Scars as it is to be known. The vampaneze are an evil race of vampires who broke off from the Council hundreds of years ago and don't follow any of the vampire's rules of conduct; in particular, they have no respect for human lives. As prophesied by Mr. Tiny, the three vampire hunters—Darren, Mr. Crepsley, and Vancha March—must defeat the Lord of the Vampeneze in one of four potential encounters. The fate of th [...]
The book starts with Darren and his friends quickly leaving the underground passages to escape the Vampaneze and vampets. With them are two hostages, Steve Leopard (who reveals himself to be a half-vampaneze) and a vampet. Debbie has been taken hostage by R.V Vancha tortures the vampet back at their base and finds out that only the Vampaneze Lord can kill the three hunters. Unfortunately, Steve had arranged for the police to find out about them and soon they are surrounded by the police and army [...]
What a plot twist. Crepsley dies. Steve is the Lord. RV loses his hands again. Great story. Not-so-scary cover.
About the Book:When we last left Darren and the others, they were being arrested for the murders the vampaneze had committed. Now, they need to figure a way out and stop the Vampaneze Lord. Review:Maybe it's just me, but this particular trilogy felt more drawn out than the others. It was still an enjoyable read however. It was especially interesting to see how our heroes dealt with the human police force. Now, even though Killers of the Dawn kept a fast and intriguing pace, I still had issues wi [...]
I think this may be the book I love the most in the series so far, but also the one I hate the most. I won't say who but someone dies and I was devastated. Can't believe he did that! He certainly doesn't mind killing off his characters, but why is it always the ones I like the most? Now I've dropped that bombshell, I will explain, the death doesn't happen until right near the end, but I knew it was coming for a couple of chapters. Up to that point this book was so exciting and well written, I was [...]
Darren Shan, hunting the Vampaneze in a city, finally finds what he’s looking for. He starts to hunt them down, hoping to strike the Vampaneze Lord down. But his quest is nowhere as simple as he thinks. “Killer of the Dawn” was a book that made me want to keep reading the series. The previous two books in the series weren’t very satisfying for me, and I was considering moving on to another series. Thankfully I gave this book a chance, otherwise I would have never read the remaining boo [...]
I just finished reading this book yesterday and what a twist for horrors it was. The plot took a turn I knew was coming but did not want to believe it would. While this book is meant for horror and to make your insides squirm I found the ending was very depressing. I could not help but shed a tear for the outcome was not to my liking. While the story was well written and nothing was wrong with it, my heart ached and I stuffed myself with cake that night. To avoid spoiling I will only say someone [...]
i think that this book is okay because it does not really suprises you like other darren shan books. this book's cover looks really intresting and when you read it, its not as intresting as the book. the action is too slow and when there is action, they discribe it like it was boring. or something that happened trillions of years ago and no one cares. but above all, the book is entertaining and okay to read.
This was most awesome! It was a little slow to start with but the fight in the cave was brilliant! I read this all today as I could hardly put it down! The ending is so upsetting though! Even though I have been told about the twist at the end - it in no way took away the suspense or excitement of the story, it just made me want to get to it quicker.Only 3 more to go then the end :-(
Darren Shan, a half vampire, meets hi sold friend Debbie who know his a old woman. Darren wants to stay with Debbie and the Allison (the police officer) but he has to fight in the war with the vampaneze. Darren and a few other vampires run into the vampaneze and they have Debbie. The vampaneze give the vampires a head start of of the tunnel. This book is about friendship, loyakty and good vs evil
After a big disaster, Darren learned something after a death of someone. He felt sad, and let me also felt sad, and that is how it is. I think I will rest a while then continue to the next book because of the emotions they had mad.
