Chris Robertson's book is running over with great ideas but unfortunately, they are in very much need of a good editor. Mr Robertson has a talent that would shine with a good spit and polish of the stories. There are some real gems within the book and his execution of the books are very well played out. He has an exceptional use of character development and very good payoff. This is an interesting read and could be an excellent one if it wasn't for lack of editing. It could also do with some seq [...]

As much as I love short story collections for my lunchtime fixes, the ones in this book needed too much spellchecking. This is the kind of thing which always pulls me out of a story.

There were some good ideas in this collection but the entire book could do with a lot of tidying and polishing. There were a lot of spelling mistakes and odd grammatical errors which proved to be quite off-putting; for some reason 'shown' was consistently used instead of 'shone', I'm going to assume a weird spellcheck on that one.I enjoyed the vast majority of the collection. The last story/play was one of my favourites, along with 'The Thing in the Cage' - a story I had already read last year a [...]

I read the first three stories in this collection and was bored. There was nothing new about them, and the execution was poor. Dr. Baetki and the Nirvana Device particularly annoyed me, because it's the type of fear-mongering science fiction that paints scientific advancement as a minefield where any new technology is all but guaranteed to doom us all, because there's no way human society could ever possibly adapt to (in this case) a significantly reduced need for sleep. Ridiculous.

Some stories pull you in, most don't.

This book includes every piece of horror and science fiction that I wrote from 2005-2013.
