SAVED BY THE BRIDE by author Fiona Lowe is a Carina Press release for April 2013.Annika Jacobson is the acting mayor and she just wants to have her town’s economy improved. Improved economy meant more jobs for townspeople. She would do anything to reach her goal. And if it meant gate crashing an engagement party, then she was up for it! Finn Callahan does not want to be at his family’s summer estate, even to attend his sister’s engagement. But he meets Annika, and his not very pleasant sum [...]
Saved by the bride was a wonderfully written romantic story of two people saving each other from a lifetime of never taken chances and loneliness. The book tells of Annika, she has been hiding out for a while in the town of Whitetail, and when I say hiding out I mean trying to focus on anything and everything but her career of painting. This "I help with anything " attitude causes her to land the job of temporary major and also the only person who can save the town by making sure the town hosts [...]
I am a massive fan of Fiona Lowe’s previous book set in Wisconsin, Boomerang Bride. When I heard there were more books of a similar vein on the way, I made some very happy book noise. This was such a good book. I love that it has a really unique American setting – not a lot of romance novels are set in Wisconsin. However, as with BB, there was an awesomely cheeky Australian vibe to this book that I just loved.Saved by the Bride has such a wonderful humour and sense of fun about it. I loved An [...]

Review originally posted here: thebookpushers/2013/04/18/I love wedding stories, and after reading Lowe’s debut Carina Press novel last year, I knew I was in for a special treat with the new Wedding Fever series.Annika can’t say no to the town she loves so much. So when she is asked to step in and act as mayor, she does. When she is asked to help the find town a new industry to help them through the economic downturn, she is willing to go to great lengths to do anything and everything she ca [...]
The residents of Whitetail, Wisconsin are struggling with the economic downturn after the small town's main employer closed the doors and as acting mayor, Annika Jacobson is desperate to ensure her beloved home town survives. In a bid to secure new industry, Annika gate crashes the local summer home of Chicago businessman, Eric Callahan, during his daughter's engagement party but her plans are thwarted by the billionaires son and second in command, Finn, who mistakes her for a devious journalist [...]
To be honest, part of me wants to give this one star. But since that's mostly due to my own issues and not the book itself, I'm very generously giving it two. Because there's nothing wrong with it on most of the romance levels. It's a perfectly satisfactory small town romance. And if that's all you want, you'll probably like this book. But I had some problems with it. In no particular order, those problems are as follows:1. The troubled family/father-son relationship stuff. Look, this is a person [...]
Review can also be found at my blog: Jackie's Book World :)*ARC provided by Netgalley*Rating: 4.5/5Saved by the Bride is a romantic and entertaining book that I enjoyed reading. Fiona Lowe does a very good job describing the setting and the characters of this book. Everyone has a past and they are unable to move forward. When Annika is assigned as acting mayor of her small town, she wasn't expecting to find herself dealing with Finn Callahan, his family and her past. As acting mayor, she is dete [...]
I highly recommend this book and plan to read the next two books in the Wedding Fever Triology!! Annika Jacobson is a beautiful, down on her luck, clumsy woman who lives in small town Whitetail, Wisconsin. She is an out of work artist who has been doing anything she can to avoid her painting but she has been trying to make a living with her calligraphy business. Everyone in this town has felt the economical slump of a town without jobs. Even the mayor leaves due to the economy so Anni accepts th [...]
Another fun book from Rita-Award winning Fiona Lowe. I’ll confess that part of why I liked this book so much is that it is set in Northern Wisconsin in a part of the state near where my mother grew up and my cousins still live. There’s a dearth of romances set in the Upper Midwest so the location adds something special to the book for me, but readers throughout the world however will enjoy this madcap contemporary romance. If you liked Boomerang Bride, also set in Wisconsin, you will probabl [...]
This book tell the story of Annika, who loves her beloved town but knowing the importance of job in the town for her fellow friends, decided to gate crash into Callahan’s engagement party to confront Sean Callahan for his plan and intention on the warehouses that they owned. She was refused entry at the door by the bouncer and she then sneak into the library only to be caught Finn, Sean’s son. Under the impression that she is a journalist trying to get her story, Finn called the enforcement [...]
Saved By the Bride is the first book in Ms. Lowe's new series, Wedding Fever, and is the first title I've had the chance to read by Ms. Lowe, but it won't be my last.Annika is an underemployed artist and calligrapher in the town of Whitetail, Wisconsin, and she is also now its acting mayor. The town's hit a bit of an economic downturn, and many of her friends and fellow residents are looking to her to help put Whitetail on the map as THE wedding destination to book. Part of that plan is to get a [...]
When small town clutz Annika gets nominated as acting Mayor of Whitetail she can't seem to say no and finds herself quickly in over her head when she tries all she can to save her town and attract new business and jobs.It doesn't help that she can fall over on flat ground, or that the biggest business target for Whitetail just happens to be the very hot Finn Callahan. But while Annika does all she can to help the town attract a new company and hide herself away from her own heartache the town ha [...]
Saved by the Bride by Fiona Lowe: Annika is back in her hometown of Whitetail after a disaster of a relationship. In Whitetail she feels wanted and needed, even if her motivation to continue with her painting has withered. She is looking for a sense of purpose, and she finds this in Whitetail, a community in dire need of revitalization and economic growth. She and the town brainstorm ideas to bring work to the town, and Annika finds herself appointed interm mayor. Despite being near broke and be [...]
Recently promoted to the (non-paying) position of acting mayor, Anni will do almost anything to save her town. The economy isn't great and the town's largest employer has closed. When a prominent businessman purchases the old warehouse, Anni sees her opportunity to discuss the town's future. When she can't get a meeting, Anni (obviously) turns to unsuccessfully attempting to crash an engagement party and subsequently breaking and entering where she meets the businessman's son, Finn. This book is [...]

I Do!!!!I may be a bit biased as this story takes place in Northern Wisconsin but I truly Loved this book! This was a really well written story and kept my complete attention from beginning to end. In my opinion it was one of the best contemporary romances that I've read in awhile. Such a sweet story that made me believe that I was reading about people that I knew in a place that I could look out my window and picture. I’m actually familiar with some of the towns mentioned in the book as they [...]
Annika has to save her little town by bringing in new industry, but what others see as a no-brainer she doesn't trust: to make it a destination wedding venue.Finn, the son of the town's most notable businessman, has reluctantly come to town to celebrate his sister's engagement, while remaining aloof to his father's attempts to make amends for what he didn't do when Finn was a child. Annika decides to "help" bring father and son together with disastrous results when she declares her love for him a [...]
Saved by the Bride, the first book in Fiona Lowe’s Wedding Fever series, is a delicious romantic comedy that combines laugh-out-loud physical comedy, sigh-worthy love scenes, and enough heartbreak to keep it real. I liked not only Annika and Finn but also Finn’s sister who is headed toward Bridezilla status in her quest to see that a perfect wedding protects her and her endearing beta finance from the sad ending that her parents experienced. Frothier than Lowe’s Rita-winning Boomerang Brid [...]
I loved the writing throughout the book; it was wonderfully romantic and very visual. But the angst was killing me (very, very softly) every turning page. There are only 2 reasons why I didn't give it 5 stars: 1)Bridget/Hank. OMG I was so happy when they worked things out!! I was about to pull my hair out. 2)Town meeting when Anika was "discharged". Dear Lord!! I hoped for an group apology later, because it was PLAIN CRUEL. I mean, I know Anika was kind of a control freak and possibly both ideas [...]
This was one of the best contemporary romances that I've read in awhile. Such a sweet story that made me believe that I was reading about people that I knew in a place that I could look out my window and picture. I'm actually familiar with some of the towns mentioned in the book as they are not too far from where I live. I loved these characters as well as the secondary characters and really enjoyed reading about Finn's family. There was a great deal of humor in this book which always makes for [...]
Saved By the Bride was a wonderful sweet romantic tale, full of wonderful characters and beautiful places. I felt as if I was there, on the island with Annika and Finn and the rest of the family. I fell in love with the entire Callahan family. It was fun to watch them all move towards their futures as they worked through the past.I enjoyed watching Annika and Finn fall in love, and through their own struggles come together in the end. I love the town discovered through this first book, and am lo [...]
Well it was nothing unique or special on the plot, but i give it a 4 because i liked the setting it was set on. I liked Whitetale very much. The mansion, the twon, the lake, the cabin, the tree house.l of it. Otherwise, the usual both leads having some personal issues and settling them by the end of the book, and a happy ending. yeah a good normal chick flick! I did like the caligraphy, painting, paper talk parts, or the thing they built for Logan and i liked how the book focused on Bridey too s [...]
This was a nice easy read, characters were fully developed and story line stayed on course. It would've been nice if the uprising of the town wasn't as out of the blue, like it felt like the towns people did it behind her back which implied that she wasn't communicating when it was both there faults, such a tiny detail but seemed to get to me haha. Overall this was an enjoyable read that I'd recommend as a holiday read.I received this book from Firstreads
If you like small town romances. If you like brides (who doesn't). You will love this book. This book has a lot of family involvement, which adds nicely to the story line. I can for see many more small town weddings taking place. This is the first book that I have read by Fiona Lowe and will not be my last.

3.5 untuk novel iniAkhirnya setelah disela novel lain, selesai juga baca yang satu ini. Awalnya agak membosankan tetapi makin ke belakang makin bagus, sayang closingnya kurang greget banget.
On a day I shed a lot of tears listening to the news, this was a great way to end the day. The story and I just clicked and we got on fabulously.
Another awesome romance by Fiona Lowe! Can't wait for the next two books in the series.
