I've read this whole series and it is some of the best I've read. How do I convey this to you so you'll want to immediately read this or at least read it as soon as feasibly possible? I feel so fortunate in my reading selection lately. And most [...]
My absolutely favorite part of this series is the fun and sexy banter between Rob and Casey. Second part I love is the genuine love they share. There is so much more to share with us about their journey and their relationship. It's the second book about Rob and Casey but their relationship is just emerging. I pray that we will get another story dedicated to them. I want to see their relationship grow, be there for their new home and the addition to their family and I want to see more of Casey be [...]
I have absolutely adored these characters!
I'm loving these Jackson Fall stories, we are back to Casey and Rob and we meet Paige, Robs 15 year old daughter. A daughter he never knew he had. I just love Casey and Rob together and how they come to terms with helping Paige, an angry bitter teenager. I've just read that Jackson Falls is continuing with Colleens story nextyay!!!!!Special thank you to Michelle for recommending these books to me
I LOVED LOVED LOVED Coming Home and was so excited for this follow up of Rob and Casey. This was a perfect ending to the books."If you ever leave me-today,tomorrow,a hundred years from now- you'd best have a bural plot all prepared, because that will be the day I take my final breath."
SPOILER ALERT! Might contain spoilers if you haven't read Coming Home or Sleeping With The Enemy. More like Sleeping with the Enemy in tone and scope, with the same level of detail and the same characters from Coming Home, Days Like This will make you laugh and cry.I've been excited for this book to be released for months. I was a first reader and I couldn't wait for everyone else to find out more about Rob and Casey and what happened with them after Rose and Jesse's story ended in Sleeping with [...]
This is my favorite part (Rob talked with his daughter Paige and later confronted her about Casey):“You will not speak to my wife like that again. Ever. I don’t care how much you wallow in self-pity, it’s not an excuse to be rude to her. That woman has been nothing but kind and gracious to you, and you owe her an apology. I may not know what you’re going through, but let me tell you, little girl, she does. She lost her mother at fifteen, her daughter at twenty-nine, and her hus [...]
I am going to assume if you are looking at reading this book, that you have already read, at least Coming Home, the first book in this series, and hopefully the second one as well. Because I am going to do a little bit of spoilers for Coming Home Since you can't really talk about this book, AT ALL, without having read the first one.Coming Home was one of those books that absolutely gutted me, and it took me a YEAR to get over that anguish, but I absolutely loved it, because I fell in love again [...]
I loved this!! It was so great to pick up where Rob and Casey left off. I just love them both and love the relationship they share. I also fell in love with Paige. The relationship that Casey developed with her was amazing and it was nice to watch how she and Rob found a way to get to know each other. I really love Laurie's writing style. The banter and the love between Rob and Casey just makes it feel like you are there with them. While you didn't need to read the first book for this story to w [...]
I LOVED IT!!! I am an absolute fan of the Jackson Falls series. Breton does it again giving an AMAZING continuation of Rob and Casey's story. This time adding Paige; Rob's teenage daughter who is all cute attitude n musician fit just right. I fell in love with Rob and the funny/cute banter between him n Casey. You can't help but laugh a little and smile a lot. The love between the two is so raw and deep you cant help not getting absorbed in it. It gets me every time. The dialog flowed so perfect [...]
OMG. Ok so I totally did this backwards but I skipped book 2 and went to book 3 because I had to continue to read about Casey and Robs story! Right off the start they are thrown with a loop! However, with how strong their relationship is they got through it! I felt so sad and of course cried on some parts of this book when he always feels like he is second best but eventually he comes to know the truth! I just love how Casey talks to him! Cut throat and straight to the point! I can't wait to see [...]
Absolutely loved!!!!! I was finally able to see C and R as a couple and what a dynamic duo they are. D was still missed but I was able to accept that his role in the story was for just a set period of time. I loved all the character self reflections as I can see how everything that happened in their past happened the way it was supposed to. All three of them became better people over the course of their years together because of each other. I could analyze this series for days.I was mad at Lauri [...]
I wrote a whole long review but my internet connection or helpfully wiped it out. There's way too much repetition with the green eyes as I mentioned in reviews of the first 2 books.I said a lot more but I've sadly lost the will to type it all out again.I'll try the next book, eventually, but only as I like the characters a great deal. It's the repetition I can't tolerate.
Awesome I loved it, I laughed I cried and just down right couldn't put it dow she knows how to draw you in . They only thing I didn't like was too much Danny let him rest already. Still a great continuous story I can't wait to start the next book.
This book is a continuation of Coming Home so if you haven't read it yet, there may be minor spoilers in this review. This can be read as a standalone novel but to feel the full emotional impact, it is best to read Coming Home first before this one.I loved Coming Home and all the turbulent events that the characters went through. I would have liked to think that their happily ever after was reached at the end of that book. But realistically, there are still lots of issues that Casey and Rob need [...]
OMG this book straight out is one of my favorite books! This book just shows how important it is for you to be best friends with someone you love. It shows why it's so important that you understand each other completely and accept each other for what you are and how that forms the strongest bond in any relationship. This books makes you understand love better. It shows you what 'absolutely, utterly, batshit crazy in love' means. Wait that's not all, it helps you feel it.I loved how Laurie carved [...]
I was thrilled to find this book in the other day. I had no idea a sequel to Coming Home was out. While Coming Home brought things to a great conclusion, I was excited to read the next phase of their lives. I loved that we picked up where Rob and Casey left off. Those two characters were so well developed and deeply emotional, I felt like I knew them. I found myself crying several times in the book - like it was happening to people that I knew. Because I know these characters. I feel like I liv [...]
I enjoyed this book. The way the story weave between three points of view. Casey, Rob, And Rob's 15 year old daughter Paige.Casey and Rob have know each other for 20 years. They have been best friends all that time. Over those 20 years they forged a bond even as Casey was married to Danny. The three found themselves climbing the musical charts. Danny was the lead singer, Rob a singer/song writer who created the songs with Casey. Rob was always there to offer support when things with Danny went s [...]
Sequel to Coming Home. Can be read as a stand alone. It's already been said so I won't bother repeating. The author revisits Rob, Casey and Danny's past regularly throughout this book so I didn't feel any burning need to go back and read Coming Home, at any rate rock starsy books aren't really my thing since the few I've read to date involve a pet hate - cheating (yeah yeah I know it happens) but I don't want to read about it. Egged on by the reviews, In Days Like This it was a bit slow and repetit [...]
God, I love this series so muchd each book I read, I fall more in love with these characters! This was a great addition to the series. It actually addressed some issues I had with the end of "coming home". You know it is a well written story and well developed characterswhen they frustrate you one moment, and then are completely endearing the next. At times Casey really drove me crazy in this one, because I could see the train wreck comingwith her not verbalizing all the feeling she was having a [...]
Having loved the previous two Jackson Falls books, I had high expectations for this Days Like This. It superseded them and I fell in love with Rob and Casey all over again. Laurie Breton has written a superb book which I struggled to put down.Their journey continues to be heartwarming yet heartwrenching, passionate but not without pain. Danny's ghost is still hovering over them, Rob discovers he has a teenage daughter and they are desperate for their own baby, making their first year of marriage [...]
I fell in love with Rob and Casey all over again. Just when you think you already love them too much, they mature, deal with a 15-year old daughter and make you believe that true love conquers all challenges. Rob can be immature when he's mad. He says things that he doesn't mean, things that he regret saying afterwards. But he is Casey's rock, always have been since they met two decades ago. Even when she was married to Danny Fiore, it was Rob who was always there for her. He loved her unconditi [...]
I am either cynical or missing something, because I don't see how this book could possibly get all of these 5-star ratings. Were we reading the same thing?Admittedly, series tend to suck me in, and if the first one is all right, I'll continue. This was the third, and thus far the weakest, in the Jackson Falls series. Where do I begin? Let's see:* The dialogue is cheesy and/or melodramatic much of the time* If someone gets called "woman" one more time, I'm going to scream* If we are told that "gr [...]
I absolutely love Casey and Rob I mean just love them. At this point I'm completely obsessed with them and can't seem to get enough. At this point Casey and Rob haven't been married long and they are enjoying life when Rob finds out he has a daughter Paige. I loved that this one was told in a pov from 3 of them so we never had to guess what they were thinking. I'm not sure if the author is going to do a book about Paige and Mike but my goodness I hope that she does. Those two remind me of Rob an [...]
I tried so hard to love this book because i absolutey loved the first one in this series. I had trouble getting through reading it because i felt like there wasn't enough pull to keep me interested. Its very family orientated and it lacked the excitement and angst that i need in books. I really wish i could of connected more with paige because i love rob and casey and they were awesome in the first, maybe because it was missing danny. Its written really well but it just dragged for me, i know ot [...]
this series has really taken me by surprise, I loved the first two books so was a little hesitant about this one, couldn't have been more wrong, it's a beautifully, emotional read, I absolutely adore Rob and Casey, their life together and what they have been through is extraordinary, I have a massive soft spot for Rob, he is one beautiful soul of a person. I can see other books being spun off this one, namely Paige and Mickey, but we'll see.
Really liked this whole series. You just have to admire how much Rob loves Casey, even as the ghost of Danny still seems to haunt them. What I really like about their relationship is their communication. They've both learned a lot about what it takes to be a successful couple from Danny and Casey's marriage mistakes. With all the drama that ensues, they never stop talking to each other and that saves them or more than one occasion.
Casey & Rob were finally starting their life as a married couple. then came the wrenches. One was in the form of a teenage girl whose mother had died. Rob had no clue that he had a daughter. The other was Danny- well, his memory at least. The dialogue threw me a bit at times. I think some of it was that it is a story more of my parents generation than mine. But i loved the growth shown by all the characters
this is by far one of the best series ive read in a long time i have not been able to put them down i started with one and just couldnt stop:) i have just finished book 3 i felt like i knew them so well i had so many emotions through out this series its just amazing beautiful job i am so anxious for book 4 :) please tell me when if anyone knows please i need this book i cant get enough of this family
Over all the story was fantastic! I definitely need to read the first two books in the series so that I can find out what lead them to the point they're at in the story now, but I really enjoyed the read. Laurie Breton is a winner :) Wild and full of passion, Days like this is a story you can definitely relate to in a very personal way. The connection you feel to her characters and the story is fabulous. I can't wait to read more of Laurie's books in the future!
