Amid electric tension and nail-biting suspense is a beautifully complex tale of deception, love and magic that is simply stunning! WOW…The dazzling sequel to Nerita Torlan 1 ‘Burning in Water’ is even more spectacular than the first, with the tension rising as the characters are tested emotionally. Tortured and captured by Ahlic, Nerita observes his cruelty and malice as he murders in cold blood with a heart of stone and a spirit of spite. Despite escaping from his clutches she remains hau [...]

Drowning in Fire, the second book in the Nertia Torlan Trilogy was amazing. Of course I read the PDF file, but I only could find a couple mistakes and that can happen in any book. To me, the book flowed really well. I am not going to go into details because I do not want to ruin/spoil anything for those who have not read it yet, but all I can say, I did not expect some things to happen. I mean in a way I thought maybe, but I was like "no, that isn't going to happen." I have the book on my NOOK n [...]

I do have to say that I was slightly confused at the beginning of this book as it just jumped straight back into the story so I went back and re-read the last few chapters of the first book so that I could refresh my memory! Drowning in Fire has so much in it and I zoomed through it! I loved it! The plot continued on from where Burning in Water left off and I really enjoyed it! [...]

Even though Ahlic is an asshat I do love the conversations he and Nerita have: "I will do as you ask on one condition. I won't run off or try." I stared up at him. "Please tell me yourndition." He was mocking me. "I want to know more about you; how you became so f***ed up in the head."Gavan I loved getting in his head and his thoughts "d I wanted to take her right there, right then. Damn it, Shurni! I rolled my eyes and glanced at him." The things he says and does amuses me (most of the time) "I [...]

I read the first 2 books in the series and now wish I had not because there seems to be no third book or anything else from the author about when or if the last one will be written.aargh should have checked before reading the first 2. That is why the 1 star.
