I thoroughly enjoyed the sexual exploits of Sandy Jackson and Jay Bentley. He is one of my favourite Da Costa alpha males, described as "a scarred and pagan god of sex" and "half-dream and half-nightmare". This juxtaposed with the physical scars add a certain vulnerability to the character and heighten the erotic enigma too.A welcome return to the infamous Waverley hotel and beyond.

This really enjoyed reading this book. I love how the author has put a few of the other known characters out of her other books into the background of this book here and there as well. I have liked all Portia da Costa's books I have read so far. I like her writing style, she seems to tell you all the background details you need to know in a very short space of time, and doesn't drag it out.
