Another foray into chick lit! A thirty something divorcee is fixed up by her gay friend with an out of work actor for a charity ball because her ex and his pregnant wife are coming. The owner of the local book store hires a new waitress who sees a future with him. The jealous neighbor (it stems back to high school) watching everything that goes ond gossiping about it. Finally a romantic comedy finale and everyone gets their just desserts. Fast, fun reading.

Absolutely cute story! A bit slow to start, but stick with it and you'll be on a rollicking ride!Reminded me a bit of the Jilly Cooper story 'The Man Who Made Husbands Jealous'

I must have gotten a different version than those giving this 3-5 stars. There was nothing comedic about this book. I didn't care much for any of the characters. I can't even come up with words to describe how I felt about each one. They were just oddly developed. The story was beyond far fetched and that's saying something since I pretty much solely read chick-lit. And, this Kindle version was riddled with typos and errors. I clicked quickly through the pages just to get to the end because I ca [...]

GoodWell the title says romantic comedy and that is so true. It will happy you laughing more than that so sweet moments. Everybody ended up as they should have. Billy or William got his love as well as Darcy. Porter's thot of a wife let him when he became broke. The best part is Carlotta's husband let let her and asked for a divorce!!! She became the gossip of the town. Lol Wish Eric got his happy ending.

Rent A HusbandA fun, silly story. Simple and predictable but Charmin, none-the-less. Just a good read in which you need not invest much intellectual power. Entertainment, pure and simple. It is, however, in need if good editing, with special attention to the tense; the thing kept jumping from third person to first person which is annoying and pulls the reader out of the story affecting the enjoyment. Please, author, utilize an editor or at least a proofed.

Rent a HusbandI thoroughly enjoyed it. The clueless first wife did not know she was the laughing stock of her community in large part due to the malicious rumors created and spread by her nemesis. Thanks to her supportive, devious, neighbor and best friend, she was able to persevere and find her happily ever after.

Rent A Husband was a total mind vacation quick read. The story was funny, though it did go on a bit too long and all the near misses and incorrect assumptions just became ridiculous. It is in need of an editor. There are many incorrect words and punctuation issues throughout. If you want something that doesn’t take much brain power and errors don’t bother you, this book is great!

OK story, but definitely NOT a Comedy! This is NOT a comedy. Making fun of someone who is socially awkward, lies and deception do not a comedy make. Gossip and backstabbing aren't funny to me either.

P&P with a gender swap! It's p&p with a gender swap! Way too fun, I loved it! Bronte was an interesting character for Charlotte. I can't tell who Eric was supposed to be but I loved him. Maybe Jane?

I thought this was OK, but didn't find it particularly funny, even though it is billed as a romantic comedy. It was nice that the characters weren't the usual romantic leads. I probably won't go out of my way to read others by this author.

Rent a HusbandI love stories which has a gossipy woman who gets her just desserts. Although a side character, she did bring everyone together. Fun read. I hope you enjoy it as much as I.

Old time romantic comedyReading Rent A Husband was just like watching an old Cary Grant movie. The characters were fun and engaging. The book moved me along, never leaving me having to wade through dry writing. If you like old romantic movies you'll love this book.

A Good Read!I would've rated this 5 stars but for the punctuation. Whoever typed this up for the author ignored the niceties of punctuation, such as commas enclosing dangling participial phrases that are inserted into mid-sentence so as not to dangle, and the use of semi-colons where they were needed. That being said, the plot is good and the characters honest and believable, and I enjoyed the novel. Buy the book and enjoy!
