Tuesday's Child by Dale Mayer is the 1st book in her paranormal Psychic Visions Series and I am happy that I decided to continue with this series after receiving a free copy for an honest review by the author, which was the 10th .Into the Abyss /book/show/3This story revolves around Samantha Blair, a psychic woman who sees and feels people being murdered. She's wary about telling the police about these visions as she's been "burnt" when she previously had offered assistance. When Detective Brandt [...]
► Hey! I'm giving a 3-star rating to a book that isn't a total Meh Fest! Pretty amazing huh?! This one is actually pretty entertaining *gasps*► You know what's even more surprising? I fully expected to dislike this. First of all it's a mystery, a genre I gave up on ages ago after years of bingeing on it. And no you are not dreaming, this is shelved as romantic suspense. Yes it is. And I read it. And didn't fall into a sugar shock-induced coma. And still gave it 3 stars. Please refrain from f [...]
I thought this was edited by several people? For free you get:~ typos~ pronoun confusion (or surprise gender changes, as I like to call them)~ grammatical issues and some poor sentence structure~ nonsensical sentences~ repeated lines and conversations~ unnecessary POVs~ story inconsistencies~ a killer that disguises himself as elderly by wearing a crazy hat (don't ask me)And so much more. I haven't even finished the book yet. I stopped at what I think is the beginning of a sex scene (I know, rig [...]
I read this book as part of the Darlings of Paranormal Romance Anthology which includes the following Books:Book 1 – In Dusk's Embrace by Isobelle Cate Book 2 – Warriors of the Atlantean Empire by C.L. Pardington Book 3 – Eternal Vows by Chrissy PeeblesBook 4 – Waking Up Dead by Catherine WolffeBook 5 – A Grave Exchange by Tara Rose Book 6 – Tuesday's Child by Dale MayerBook 7 – Virgin Moon by Ally Thomas Book 8 – Zombified by Lyra Mcken Book 9 – Crush by Chrissy PeeblesBook 10 [...]
A great book about a psychic woman who has visions of people being murdered from the victims perspective. A policeman realises she could help him with one of his cases. They team up in more ways than one and its a thrilling ride right up to the last chapter. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and would love to read more books about these characters, it would make a great crime series. I'll be checking out more books by this author who has a great gift for writing stories.
This is the first book I've read by Dale Mayer and I found the story, writing and character good. However, I thought the Author 'rushed' the ending to 'tie things up'.I still want to read the second book in this series because Ms. Mayer's imagination and story-line has intrigued me.
This story missed the mark, for me. I liked the plot and the characters, but they seemed to contradict themselves at times, which made it hard for me to connect. I'm wavering between 3 stars and 4 because I felt like the author could have done a better job defining the characters, their motivations, their thoughts, their actions, and their dialogue. To add to that, there were some major editing issues. Misplaced quotation marks all over the place made me re-read several spots to figure out what t [...]
Looking at Max you'd think she was either homeless or that she has seen more in this world than anyone should. Max has secluded herself for a reason. She's a psychic and experiences everything that a current serial killer does to his victims. She wants to tell the police but is afraid of the consequences. Last time people found out about her abilities she was miserable. But Max couldn't just let the killer continue without trying to catch him so she goes into one of Portland's police station. Th [...]
I expected more romance
Another free paranormal download, as I apparently still haven't learnt my lesson, that turned out to be another meh-fest with an irritating heroine, a romantic interest with whom she shares no chemistry and some incredibly strange writing choices.Suffering from visions of the violent deaths of a serial killer's victims, Sam has retreated from the world. Apparently (according to her) shunned due to her abilities and having no friends (which is nonsense as pretty much everyone in the book seems to [...]
I read this book at camp. I actually finished yesterday, but. no internet!! Yes, i know, I was also a bit lazy, the computer wasn't in my building Anyway, the book was good, i guess. But the idea was not that original. I read a book quite similar to this one. I mean it was better than others, just not the best. If you like thriller-type or whatever, i guess this is a maybe type of book.
The first book in the Psychic Visions series by Dale Mayer. Samantha Blair aka Sam experiences visions of murder. She experiences what the victim does. She reports her latest psychic vision to the police but is brushed off as a crazy. But Detective Brandt Sutherland thinks differently and go to see Sam to get more information.A freebie and my first book by this author. I didn't read anything new. I have read this same plot many times and I do like it. I liked the style of writing and will certai [...]
I've read other books where the protagonist is psychic - some good, some bad. This one I really enjoyed. The author has written an intriguing story that embodies suspense, mystery, romance, and paranormal elements all in one that makes this book a real page-turner. It's a well-written story that moves at a good pace, always keeping the reader engaged. Also, the characters that are likeable and well developed, especially Samantha, a very complex individual. What Samantha experienced each time a p [...]
**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**Review: I was so excited to dive into this book! Although I read a lot of different genres now, my first love was the mystery/suspense/murder type novels involving the police or FBI. In fact, Kay Hooper's Bishop/Special Crimes series is one of my favorite series of all time, and it also deals with psychics. In Tuesday's Child we meet Samantha Blair, who has an unusual "gift"; she ends up trapped in the minds of vi [...]
Samantha Blair grew up with her psychic abilities and often was treated like an outcast because of it. When she begins to have visions of women being murdered she knows she will likely be sent away but reaches out to the police. Detective Brandt Sutherland wonders if what Sam is saying is true and when he asks her for help, he doesn't realize that it will put her in the serial killers sight. Not to mention there are those in his department who treat her with disbelief. Can they find the killer b [...]
Tuesday's Child is a Mystery Thriller, with a touch of Paranormal. This read was a little different than what I normally get into, but the beautiful cover pulled me, so I had to read it. I'm so glad I did. Tuesday's Child sent chills up my spine. Sam is a beautiful, twenty-eight-year-old woman, who works for a veterinarian hospital. She would rather be around animals than people since she’s psychic. Sam's psychic gifts are more of a curse than a gift as she feels what her victims feel. And she [...]
Psychological/thriller romance I enjoyed this book, it was a good read although I couldn’t help but be reminded of Dream Man by Linda Howard. It has a lot of similarities to Dream Man but managed to be different in other aspects. You will not know who the serial killer is until near the end, which keeps you turning the page just to find out who is behind the murders. I have to say Samantha’s character was a bit cold to me (I understand that due to her gift, she had withdrawn from the world b [...]
After finishing this book, I was quite surprised to learn that this author is multi-published. It reads more like a first draft of a beginning author. Having recently read several "free" downloaded books, I am becoming increasingly frustrated with lack of proper editing. Thus my harsher than usual rating. It seems as though publishers are churning out book after book without taking the time to make sure they are putting forth a good product. This book is no exception. It's bumpy and disjointed. [...]
GoodYesterday was going on the phone number and email to be in town this year is to make the right choice but it is also
This book is amazing! I love the characters. What this character had to go through. How she survived. This book shows just how much a dog can save your life. It also shows you in this book, no matter the difference of a person, never, ever think of them as different or wrong. This girl was an amazing characters. Of course one who eventually falls in love, understands that being different can also save those around you, Don't change who you are for others. Be yourself. And all of this showed in th [...]
I love this book so I had to read the next
Rating: 2 stars. Overall opinion: mehpros-Dogs. -Interesting take on psychic abilitiesns -The romance was meh. It felt unnecessary and didn't really add to the story.-The mystery had a decent set up but there was no mystery solving. Just vision, debrief, vision, debrief. Meh. The killer wasn't a suspect at all.-Sam was meh. Just a personal preference, I like kickass female characters who can defend themselves. Sam is strong. She's endured pain and being killed again and again, experiencing both [...]
"Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace", or at least that's how the rhyme goes. The book, Tuesday's Child by Dale Mayer, while not totally full of grace, did tell a compelling story.Samantha Blair has psychic visions. She sees death. Even more horrific, she sees it from the victim's point of view, as it is happening. She experiences every stab, every slice, every broken bone. She doesn't just feel the pain, every cut, bruise and broken bone manifests on her own body, th [...]
I picked up this book for free, thought the blurb sounded interesting and gave it a shot. Initially the book and the premise reminded me a little of a Cynthia Eden book (and I’m a huge fan of hers). I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect since I didn’t read any reviews before starting. Tuesday’s Child is the story of Sam who through her psychic abilities has to live through a serial killers violent murders. She actually becomes each victim while the event is taking place and then she is ab [...]
I LOVED this book! I received a copy of Tuesday's Child in exchange for an honest review. I've never read any of the authors works before and it is safe to say I will be purchasing the rest of her books very soon! Tuesday's Child is a well written and engaging book. I was instantly captivated by the main character and her story. I couldn't put it down. The level of detail was amazing! The author showed you what happened without too much telling. I felt as if I were truly there experiencing what S [...]
This is one of those lovely, dark books that's gruesome and bloody and just somehow hits the spot. Sam is isolated and lonely and her visions are sapping the strength from her. The saddest thing is that she doesn't know how to help herself. She's managed to keep herself on a relatively even keel but she's on the verge of breaking - both physically and mentally.Who wouldn't be, really, when they're forced to live the last moments of different women's lives? Painful, hopeless, agonizing moments th [...]
Three 2.5 starsNot bad for a freebie and I may eventually look up the rest of the series if it goes on sale. The bones of a good story are here and I did want to find out what happened enough to keep reading. But if I do pick up book 2 and still find the same editing and writing problems, I would likely be disinclined to continue. At one point Samantha is telling the vet something about her dog Sarge that made me think, "When did that come up?" It happens later in the book and the reference to [...]
I cannot write anything new which hasn't been written in the description of the book. The most I can say is it is readable. I don't think a reader would put this on DNF shelf since it is really short and a fast read, but it isn't anything special either. The only thing which stands out is the way Samantha Blair gets her visions. It is really creepy and it is heartbreaking when you remember she is living alone, has a part-time job and she thinks she hasn't got anyone in the world. She gets her vi [...]
Thriller RomanceI would recommend Tuesday's Child to other readers that enjoy a fantastic psychological thriller A psychological thriller with just the right amount of romance. Samantha a young psychic who hasn't had the easiest life, an outcast with strong abilities that take her unwillingly to the darkest depths. Brandt a handsome cop searching for a serial killer. I won't spoil the story with too much information, but after. reading this gripping page turner I am looking forward to reading mo [...]
