Kevin is just trying to make his way through each day at school. He loves photography, but isn't very fond of school until Vanessa shows up. The minute he sees her, he thinks she is the most beautiful girl ever. When it turns out she also is interested in photography, he becomes so besotted that his grades start to slip and he can barely form a complete sentence in Vanessa's presence. He consults his friend Jack, the cologne drenched, super suave author of Girlfriend Management the Easy Way, and [...]
Since I enjoyed The Prince and the Snowgirl, I decided to check out another of Mr. Cheshire's books. Mr. Cheshire definitely has a defined niche that he does remarkably well (in his case, awkward teen boy with a crush). The plot of Kissing Vanessa is much better than The Prince, and I enjoyed it more as a result. It's full of awkward, cringe-inducing moments but what's fun is that Cheshire writes them in a very understated way so they very much sneak up on the reader. I'm finding I'm enjoying Mr [...]
This was disappointing. I really thought it was an amateur attempt at imitating Louise Rennison. The characters were hollow, the plot line was cliche. It was a perfect example of everything that I hate in YA literature. It is a shame because I have a soft-spot for stories of unrequited teenage love, but this one wasn't worth my time. Thankfully it was short.
Kissing Vanessa offers comedy, with insights into the reality of adolescent first love.It was a good book, but i think it's meant to be for younger readers. I would definitely recommend this book to tweens.
I like this book.Really, really, like it. Mungkin karena pengarangnya cowok, jadi ada sisi humoris yang hangat di buku ini. Dan kisah-kisah Kevin untuk merebut hati Vanessa itu sumpah kocak, bikin gw ngakak. Intinya, oke banget :D
I read this shortly after it came out, so it's been awhile. It wasn't bad, but it's for more of a younger crowd (someone else who reviewed it said the same thing). It's like a book written for 12-year-olds or something, but about 15-year-olds (I think). The pink really caught my attention
READ IN DUTCHI always really enjoyed collecting the Tina Toppers, as you could only buy them for 4 weeks, I had to get most of them via Ebay (some were published before I was born). The stories are mostly not very special, but a nice and quick read. I would recommend them for children aged 10-12
I love this book because This Book Helps You if you have a problem in your life like this boy in the book he likes this yonger teacher
boy lit, misadventures trying to attract a girl
a light book, not much to it still pretty good for what it is.
I thought this book was ok. It moved very slowly so I got bored a lot. I understood what happened for the most part but it's hard to keep up when it's boring.
Even though I've read it quite some time ago, I remember LOVING this book. It made me cry from laughter and was really cute and romantic in some parts.
