There are a few authors who I just absolutely love!! They are on my auto-buy list & I actually go through withdrawls when I am caught up with their series Donna Grant has the top spot! She is the most awesome writer & comes up with these original paranormal stories with constantly running themes. Each book can be read as a stand alone, but they do have a dusting of another background story There is so much I still want to know!! And GEEZ!! What kind of book actually can make you want to [...]

NOTE: Hot Blooded is a four-part book, and should be read in sequence, and the four parts will be published as one single book in January 2015.This review is for all the four parts and will be the same for all four books. The battle between good and evil, human and demon is a never-ending war waged for centuries and shall continue into the future with destructive consequences, as power and control take precedence over everything. And as history shows, for every act of evil, there will be reacting [...]

I read all 4 of these novellas (about 400 pages total) so we'll count them as 1 book in my 222 book goal at .This was the story of Laith and Iona and, overall, I loved the book. However, as Ms. Grant tends to do with every book, she refuses to end it and start something different. And Rhys's story is not due out until March. UGH! Anyway, the following is my review for each novella on .Hot Blooded 1I waited until all four of these books were out, now I've begun to read them. I know I've some book [...]

This is the first book I've read by Ms Grant, which I know I am behind because this is part of a series, and this is being released as a serial, but let's see what I can do you LOL This is a story about the Kings of Dragons, they are separate from their flock of dragons. And the whole book just released and is book 7 of the series. :) This is Laith and Iona's story. Laith is a dragon king, though he seems more laid back and easy going than most of the others. He also likes humans, the others see [...]

As I’ve stated in previous reviews, I really do not normally enjoy serials. I much rather have the entire book at once to read than have to wait weeks to receive the next installment. For that reason alone, I am very picky over which installment books I do choose to read. Thankfully, Grant is conscious that many readers feel this way and does not make us wait endlessly for installments. She is by far one of the few authors who I would recommend hands down even to people who, like myself, do no [...]

He was murdered The Campbells had owned the fifty acres bordering Dreagan for countless generations "Who's going to guard the land?" Laith asked. "John has a daughter, Iona."HOT BLOODED by Donna Grant is another mesmerizing read in Donna's Dark Kings series. I read it as a four-part serialized story. Laith is a Dragon King I don’t remember much about until this story, Hot Blooded: Part 1. He has sort of been quietly in the background running the Dreagon bar. However, Donna Grant does a masterful job bringing everything concerning him up to par in this first part of the serial. Also Iona is introduced and her past story explained. This first part helps to set the story and the characters up for the conflict to come. The character development is one of the things, I enjoy most about Ms. Grant [...]

Hot Blooded part 1I really enjoyed reading part one, about Laith meeting a girl who could hold not just his attention, but intrigue him to the point of distraction. This is but part 1 of 4, so. I must continue on with 2 now. In all honesty, I actually prefer to read the entire book as opposed to breaking it into 4 parts. Ms. Grant is good about offering both options, I oftentimes end up buying the 4 parts vs the entirety in one book because I tend to be impatient. Lol I really would like to hear [...]

The next new installment in the Dragon Kings series by Donna Grant does not disappoint. In Part 1 you are introduced to Laith , one of the Dragon Kings. He is totally happy with his life. He is not looking for a long term relationship and especially not one that leads to a mate. Iona has returned home to Scotland to bury her estranged father. The longer she is in the town the more she realizes that her image of her father is not the man he was. When she stops at the local pub she encounters Lait [...]

I love fantasy and the recent surgence of dragon shifters definitely made me want to read this 4-part novel. Unfortunately, with Part 1, I was instantly disappointed.Too many points of view. Too many different storylines. Thankfully, the author didn’t head hop – for the most part. Mostly, the points of view were separated. But still – far too many. And all the different plotlines. It was too much to get my head around. And yet, it was still interesting enough to make me want to read part 2 [...]

Laith doesn't want a mate but something about Iona draws him in and he know he's in trouble. She plays an important role in keeping Dreagan safe, but doesn't know it yet. This is shaping into a good series. I love anything that is associated with Dragons-Kings just make them better. Iona has lost her Dad. She hasn't been here since 20 years ago. Laith owns the local Pub and they like each other. There are spoilers for them and spoilers for us. Guess we will all see in Part 2.

I was a little lost at first when I started this book. Lots of characters and lots of allusions to quite a bit of back story. However, I like the characters and the premise of the book, so that kept me reading. I will definitely continue on to the next book in the series to see what happens.
