    Lance Blomgren

    Lance Blomgren is the author of the novel Walkups and Corner Pieces, a collection of short fictions and urban proposals, and an assortment of editions and publication projects He lives in Vancouver He completed an MA degree in literature and writing from Concordia University Montreal and is currently a Master s candidate in the Curatorial and Critical Studies program at the University of British Columbia He is Research Fellow at Thompson Rivers University His fiction and essays have appeared in Tank, Fillip, Art Asia Pacific, Matrix, Geist and Dandelion magazines, and as recent contributions to publications for MIT Press, Black Dog Publishing, Jorge Pinto Books, Presentation House Gallery and Centre de recherche urbain de Montr al His projects have been exhibited and presented at for Sox36 Berlin , Leonard and Bina Ellen Gallery Montreal , ADN Galleria Barcelona , CBC Radio One, The Commons Vancouver , Banff Centre Banff, Alberta , Queensland University of Technology Brisbane Yukon Arts Centre Whitehorse and DARE DARE Montreal , among others In 1997, Blomgren was awarded the bpNichol Chapbook Award for his collaborative publications Liner and Manual For Beginners Corner Pieces was a short listed finalist for the ReLit Award in 2005, and in 2012 his fictive essay Operation Northern Shield was nominated for the Journey Prize Blomgren has lived at various times in Courtenay, British Columbia, Dawson City, Yukon, Montreal, Quebec, and Las Cruces, New Mexico Over the years he has worked as a gallery director, university instructor, Volvo mechanic, crisis hot line operator, competitive swimming coach and communications consultant.
