My main emotion concerning this novel is DISAPPOINTMENT (it was a DNF so first impressions i guess)I read the sample and thought the MC was a strong independent woman and didn't need a man *NO JOKE*I loved that she was an expert sniper and her skills were sought out by the elite TAK squad and didn't spend much time talking about dating, makeup, or etc except it was just to set ground that she doesn't think about it. The author went out of her way to make her MC the badass character who doesn't a [...]
DNF @ 30%This started out so promising. Lexi seemed to be a bad-ass heroine, being a sniper pro that has grown up among soldiers. Then she's whisked away by some supernatural agency and meets her new team, including grumpy Reece Garrett, and this is what happens:I was surprised to be accepted so readily by most of the squad when I usually had so much trouble fitting in anywhere. Only one member of the team clearly didn't want me there and Agent Garrett was making no secret of his displeasure at [...]
3.5 stars and I will definitly read the next book in this series. It could be even more stars, if somebody just smack H and h heads together, and force them to talk to each other.
With this book I have only one thing that I can really say to summarise how I feel about it? How the hell didn't I find this book sooner and have this series in my life. I will admit parts of it could be seen as being a little predictable but the story was really gripping with all the action and the romance. I found it really gripping how the psychic's powers seemed to have a connection to that of all the seven deadly sins. This book is exactly what I have been looking for and I will definitely [...]
Better then expected Well first off this book was free. And like my title says better than I thought it would be, I had low expectations and was spoiled for the big secret. But it was still pretty enjoyable. Lexi was a different narrator and seemed so much younger then the rest of the team. The bad guys they where chasing seemed pretty easy to stop. I mean for all the talk about it, it was pretty quick. I wish the story had different points of view, maybe that would have added to the story. But [...]
Thank you lord baby Jesus in the manger!!! A kick ass leading lady that doesn't cower behind every corner!!! Throw in a couple guns, some smoky hot steam and you got yourself one hell of a story!
2.5 stars rounded up YA coming of age story. Multiple types of paranormals. 17 year old action heroine is superb sniper. Girl graduates HS. Her dad is the Army's top sniper, frequently overseas. No Mom. She is second nationally at sniping only to dad. He's away on 2 month mission so feds recruit her to temporarily join paranormal hunting team.Novel is set in Denver but local place names are omitted. Dad is in Army, heroine will join at the end of summer but real world army details are missing. N [...]
I am on the fence with this book.I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either. Lexi seems to be a nice character, I don't like the male lead at all, Reece has had no interaction with Lexi from his own volition and I can't feel any chemistry between the two.I don't exactly feel like continuing with the series since this is kind of make or brake for me. I need a strong emotional connection to develop between the main characters for it to work.I felt more from Flynn and Kala then Reece. He was cold [...]
What a great surprise this book was! It’s my first none ‘man on man’ book in a while. The summary appealed to me so, I downloaded a sample, loved it, and downloaded the full version.I thought this was really well done. I would however, argue that it’s not a romance. Looking at the cover you get the impression it’s a story about a girl who falls for a tough young military style guy, when in fact, this is the B story. The main story is Lexi’s journey, from a girl to a woman. This surpr [...]
As I said in my review (where I bought it), I haven't read many shifter stories and was pleasantly surprised at how well put together this was. Although the story didn't always run along as smoothly as I would like, I tend to feel this is a matter of personal taste, rather than writer lack of skill. Some writers use more description than others, but if they move the story along well, it doesn't matter. J.C. Diem is one of those writers. And, too, perhaps later the author's writing style will ex [...]
Despite a cheesy cover, this book was well written and smooth. Unfortunately it was rather predictable and I had trouble getting interested in the characters. There's not that many, and other than the main character you don't know anything about the others really, even by the end of the book. The bad guy psychics were fairly uncomplicated and it was a bit silly for them to take on names of the seven deadly sins and kill people that way.
I was excited by the thought of getting to read about a kick-ass female, and for about 10 to 20% of the book I thought that’s what I was getting. Unfortunately the chick started to revert to a goo goo eyed mess the minute the hot guy entered the picture. That kick-ass female at the beginning didn’t show back up until almost 95%. All in all, I think I might still give the next book a try.
Have to admit, the only reasons I read this one was, a, it had a ridiculous title, b, ridiculous concept, c, it was free. Now I'm onto book 4 in 3 days. SURPRISE! Well yes I was. It's not a complete, well rounded world, but there aren't really any gapping holes. The characters are good and the stories and threads keep it interesting.
Hello!!So at first glance of the cover I admit I didn't really care much about this book. So I did ignore it at first but then it kept popping around on while I was doing a search of possible Werewolf novels for me to read. So I said, "What the check let's give it a try." So then I decided to read the description of it and I was curious.I found the story interesting but at some point it did get a little slow. The main character Lexi is not exactly the type of character I thought she was going [...]
This is the first book I have ever read from this author and I was completely blown away. I would give it a ten if I was able to. The main character Alexis Levine, Lexi is likable right off. I felt as though I was part of the storyline. As she goes through everything you will feel invested. Also the other characters in the story flow smoothly. This book is a YA paranormal book, I highly recommend it to everyone. I look forward to reading the next book.
GreatThis is a very good book. It you like shifters you will like this. Full of action, mystery, friendships, magic, shifters and who knows maybe love. Good story line and great characters. So grab your copy and enjoy reading.
Great book. I loved it. Was sad for it to end. I wanted it to keep going. Can't wait to read the next book.
I thought it was refreshing, a bit cute, and had a few adrenaline type moments. Loved it right away and bought the series ASAP!
WowI was absolutely was entranced by this book. I can't wait to continue this series. I will be recommending this book to anyone who enjoys a good story!
Seven PsychicsI really enjoyed this book and am getting the next one in the series to see what happens. Keep up the good works.
I surprisingly really enjoyed this book. I thought that it was going to be a book that I skim-read but I really became invested in the case & the characters. I will be definitely hunting down book 2.
WowI am not sure this book is for YA but man it was a great read. There is sex and violviolence all through out this book so please be aware of that. But otherwise enjoy
I'm hooked. So hooked that I bought the rest of the series as it stands right now. I loved the characters, the fast pace, the story line - everything. Now I just have to find the time! I have to read the second book just to find out what her father does.
This review was first published on my blog Lecture toute une Aventure My opinion: To be honest , the beginning put me off a littlei’m not fond of guns in general ( it’s not in my culture) and a father who teaches his child that has me ill at ease , now the fact he is military softened it too it’s a little more understandable even if i’m not confortable with that idea however i’m really glad i haven’t stopped reading at that point because this is simply excellent!!Where to starte worl [...]
Alexis Levine may still be a teenager but she’s a skilled shooter and that’s exactly why she’s asked to join the TAK squad to help them take down a group of psychics nicknamed the Seven Deadly Sinners. Her appointment to the team might be temporary but she’s determined to prove herself and do what’s necessary to keep people safe. Lexi isn’t your typical teenage girl. She’s a no frills, sharp shooting, tomboy who hero-worships her dad. It’s quite cute really, as she’s super prou [...]
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed this one although I can't point to the reason why. It doesn't have anything extra special or different about it. The story moves at a reasonable pace, there is a good balance between the action and the character interaction and I like Lexi. I also liked that Lexi was an excellent sniper and how she was professional and competent in this area as that is where she excelled and that she wasn't so sure of herself in other areas given her somewhat isolated upbringing, cons [...]
When you start reading a book and get to the third chapter thinking 'Jeez this chick is so BORING" and start contemplating whether or not you want to actually continue reading the book it doesn't bode well for the rest of the book.At least that would happen with most books. Thankfully enough, Seven Psychics isn't most books. Though the first couple chapters which are basically the pages used to introduce the heroine to the reader were emotionless and bland, the further I read it became clear tha [...]
