I accidentally bumped into this story in Dangerous Passions: 12 Tales of Contemporary Sexy Hot Alpha Heroes - Cops, Navy SEALs, Marines, Military, FBI Agents, Secret Agents, Police Captains, Spies, and More. I purchased this anthology earlier because of another story and I totally forgot about it. So I was browsing on my Kindle to find something to read, saw this title and clicked on it to see what it was. 11 by Kylie Brant was the first story. I started to read and couldn’t put it down. Thril [...]

Fantastic mystery/suspense/thriller with a side of romance. Great characters with imperfections that only make them realistic and engaging. What's not to love? Ms. Brant is a master at writing romantic suspense, and now I must track down her entire backlist.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOOWWW!!!!Now this is a really momeorable, fantastic book!!!The incredible way Ms. Brant tells a truly terrifying story is just amazing! The main characters, Mia and Jude are plain fantastic! The story is like watching a cross between CSI and Criminal Minds with all the terror and incredulity a thought about such monster exising brings on.Every their action, reaction, thought is so real-life and so true that's really amazing! There's only one tiny, teeny problem: the monster's reason [...]

Oh the sick and twisted things authors can come up with. It’s been a while since I’ve read Kylie but the title of the book grabbed my attention and wouldn’t let go. I knew during the first chapter that the book was going to be a good one and I was not disappointed. An added bonus was seeing Adam Raiker back – who is from her earlier series Mindhunters. The significance of the number is that is what the bad guy calls the women he kidnaps and “trains” to be the perfect women by torturi [...]

They call him The Collector. He’s been abducting women for years and only one has escaped. He called her Eleven. After several years of being held captive, beaten, raped, tortured, she found a way to escape. Unfortunately, there is no evidence to support her story. Not the shaved head with the # 11 tattooed on it not the scars. Even her family won’t believe her.Fast forward 3 years Mia has been on the move in places like Vietnam under an assumed identity. Only one man knows where she is. Ju [...]

I'm a fan of Kylie Brant's Mindhunter series, but 11 qualifies her in my mind among the top thriller writers of this generation. Gutsy, fearless and incredibly smart writing, Ms. Brant takes the reader from DaNang Vietnam back to the US all while Mia Deleon aka 11 tries to outrun a madman desperate to return her to his collection. Mia is about as tortured a heroine as I've ever read and Jude Bishop the perfect match for her. Ms. Brant's knowledge of technology, law enforcement, the human psyche [...]

Having read the Kylie Brant's ("Brant") Mindhunters' series and quite enjoying them, I didn't hesitate to give "11" a try, and I'm so glad I did. Once again Brant weaves a terrific tale of suspense and mystery, with a little romance thrown in, engaging the reader right from the start. The fact that she includes Adam Raiker from the Mindhunters' series was surprising and quite intriguing. That and the protagonists, Jude and Mia, two very strong and complex characters, both of whom have endured un [...]

Good murder/mystery. Interesting characters. The only thing I wish the story had shown the main characters father and family in reaction to seeing the truth emerge.

A well written at times intense readI really enjoyed this book. This is the first time I've read anything from this author and it definitely won't be my last. This was a really well written book that had its intense moments with a touch of romance. Exactly what I like in my books. It could use some work in the grammar and spelling department, but that has never really bothered me, nor does it detract from the book. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody who likes a good intense read w [...]

11 is a winnerKylie Brant has constructed as evil an antagonist that I've read. The underlying fear as a reader couldn't come close to that of his victims, but that's what made it so powerful. Mia is a complex, damaged heroine and Jude the damaged hero who find one another in this complicated yet simply evil scheme. A psychological thriller that will keep you turning pages.

I`m thrilled I found a new author to adore !This is my second book, and will definitely not be the last. The writing is gorgeous, the story action packed. I believed every word.Even the sex scene was well handled - in the fact that both hero and heroine had been sexually abusedd this was their first time to trust again and be intimate with someone.

Mia Deleon had spent three torturous years in the hands of a sadistic sexual predator before managing to escape. Yet she's never been able to really enjoy her freedom. Her kidnapper and torturer has never been found because no one had really believed she'd been taken, and even after she left the country her backpack packed with multiple assumed names, she's kept looking over her shoulder, expecting the monster to find her any day.Until he didBut Jude Bishop, the man who helped her disappear five [...]

Kylie does it again!Another very suspenseful book from Kylie Brand. This is the 2nd book I have read of hers and I will just have to keep going. The heart-throbbing actions of 11 and Jude kept me reading long into the night and I have no intention of giving away any spoilers so you will just have to read this yourself. It will be well worth it.

The plot (no spoilers): Mia escaped from sexual sadistic The Collector, but when she returned, no one believed her story—or that fact that he’d come for her. So she disappears. But hiding in Vietnam on a fake passport isn’t enough.Private security expert Jude Bishop helped her disappear, but now he’s looking for her again. He finds her in the middle of a chase that takes them back across continents, deeper into both their pasts. Together they search for the man who called Mia #11 in his [...]

This was a fast paced and very suspenseful fill ride that had me at the edge of my seat and not wanting to put the book down! I was sucked in from the very first chapter and extremely intrigued by the story. Its dark and twisted and would make for a great movie.I really liked Mia. She's very strong and brave for being traumatized and kidnapped. No one believed her story so she had to take measures into her own hands and protect herself. I could understand her hesitance to trust anyone. I really [...]

3.5 StarsThis is the first book I've read by this author and I was pleasantly surprised. I loved how complex the characters are and how the author did not go into too much depth of what Mia went through while she was held captive by the Collector. I sometimes find books in this genre hard to read if there is too much violence. The relationship between Mia and Jude was also a nice touch. The story is fast paced and exciting and definitely a page turner. The only downside for me is that there was [...]

This was dark and brutal, a clever book. It tells the story of 11 aka Mia Deleon who was kidnapped and held captive by a brutal creep years ago. She managed to escape but has been on the run for five years. The "collector" wants to recapture her and return her to his collection. Although 11 is damaged and broken, she is also very gutsy as she fights to put an end to the horror for once and for all and free the other victims. This was much better than I thought it would be - compulsive page-turne [...]

I read this in the Dangerous Passions: 12 Tales of Contemporary Sexy Hot Alpha Heroes box set. This incredible story kept me up reading way past my bedtime. Mia survived three years of abuse and then having no one believe her. She has been hiding for five years but now it comes back to haunt her. Security expert Jude Bishop has scars of his own and now there seems to be proof that Mia wasn’t crazy and needs protecting. But can they protect their hearts?

My heart is still pounding after I finished this story. There was a lot of action in different parts that kept the story going at a good pace. Mia was held captive by The Collector. She escaped only to be found again. Jude is hired to protect Mia, though he doesn't believe her story of being held captive. Prepare to read this book in one sitting because you will not want to set it down!I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I really like that even though Mia and Jude have endured a lot in their lives, they are both strong characters. Mia and Jude talk things out, and Jude doesn't instantly believe everything she says just because she is the heroine. They distrust each other for valid reasons, but still give each other a chance. Overall, I was pulled in by the suspense and was rooting for the two of them. Great story.

A suspenseful romantic thriller about refusing to be a victim, finding a reason to live, and the courage to reach for something good. The story is dark, tense, and emotional. Jude and Mia are both survivors of abuse who were let down by the people around them. They are broken but have come through with a fierce fill to live, a refusal to give up, and a drive to protect others. They start off distrusting each other but slowly realize that they see each other for who they are without judging.

awesome!Wow Just finished 11 and Ms Brandt was yet again able to deliver a seriously sick and twisted antagonist while offsetting that character with a brilliant and strong female lead. Man, that was a great read! One request though, can we get some kind of early warning notice when new Brandt books are available, because I stumbled onto that one by pure fluke, and I don't want to miss any new upcoming works in the future.

11 This book had me sitting at the edge of my seat. It had everything I like when reading a book. There was suspense, murder and mystery. I also like reading a book with the hero getting the girl. Although in this book I think Mia was just as much a hero as Jude. Good reading. I love to wake up to a good book everyday.
