Ashes and Rain (Ahsenthe Cycle #2) - Alexes Razevich Part sci-fi and part fantasy, Ashes and Rain picks up where Khe left off -- and does a wonderful job of furthering and enriching the original story. As this book opens, Khe knows she has changed, and she is becoming aware of how much her efforts, and those of the doumanas she assisted, have changed their world. They have overthrown the lumani, the shadowy race that ran the doumanas' society -- but now that no one is telling them what to do, [...]

This is the rest of the story of Khe. It is wonderfully written in true Razevich style. What an amazing race the doumana are. There are other races that are equally as facinating and I hope the story continues. There are so many possibilities that this could become a true epic.I could'nt believe all the twists and turns in the plot line. I stii love Khe and have come to know some of her sisters that remind me of different friends that I have known for a long time. The story is rich in emotion an [...]

Disclaimer, I received an ARC of this book for a fair and honest review.I rarely give out top ratings and don't think I ever have for a sequel but this hit all the boxes for me. It was a very quick paced book I didn't want to put down because it sucked me in from the beginning. You could read this book without reading the first, but you'll become lost to a degree. Khe's world continues to grow and along with it her worries and concerns about all that comes with a growing role and her fear over w [...]

The continuing story of Khe was deeply satisfying for me. I just finished reading this book about an hour ago and couldn't wait to get home to write this review. I love the style and how the story flows. I think there is just about the right amount of detail to really build the world and characters in my mind but I wouldn't mind even more. I feel like I could spend hours more in Khe's world. I still wonder what happened to a certain character though. And even though I'm very satisfied with this [...]

A better book than the first (Khe). This one's good in that it's faster-paced, has some clever writing and is a lot better at holding attention. Razevich gets a five on five for imagination. This one, again, is a good weekend read; the setting sun, a cup of hot coffee and a chair by the edge of your balcony could get you through this in three hours tops!

Great sequelWell paced and thought out. Kept me interested, and wondering what would happen the length of the book. Would definitely read a sequel.

The second in a series but a standalone story, Ashes and Rain: Sequel to Khe by Alexes Razevich follows a catastrophe brought about by the main character to save her world. The characters are all females in a society that interacts only with males at mating, and whose lifespans are limited to 35 years. As an outsider even in her home, the heroine must deal with the alienation of her family, the disruption of her familiar norms, and the role she must play to keep her world from collapsing on itse [...]

Khe's Story Continues. It's uncommon to find a Fantasy Novel with no humans in it. After all, we like to put ourselves in the center of everything and can get quite petulant when we discover that we are not important to the great events of the universe. _Khe_ began such a story and it is continued in _Ashes and Rain_ as Khe's life takes another odd turn in what she expects to be her final year among her sisters. Once more Khe must grapple with forces outside her understanding to save her people a [...]

khe, is an extraordinary female, strong and compassionate. I felt a certain empathy for her and wanted the best for her and her family and friends. The story took me down many roads and finally to the end, I was sorry to let her go. I wanted to know more about her life. Thank you Alexes for bring this wonderful world to us. I know Ashes & Rain will be a book I will re read and enjoy for many years to come. You remind me of Sherri L Tepper, if you do not mind me saying so. I have loved all of [...]
