His True Nature is a really sweet read. It was a little too fast to get fully invested in the story, I really would have liked more because the characters are great and I would have loved to read a lot of the 'moments' and backstory for both of them with more detail. But, their meet-cute worked and I loved the setup to their relationship.

Very nice. The mc's were good and I liked them together enough to read the next in the series.

Cute picture prompt and the author did a nice tie in to it.I only wish I had seen more of the budding relationship between the MC's, I saw a helpful ranger and another (slightly helpless and accident prone) MC who is still coming to grips with his family's reaction to him coming out to them.Maybe a bit more time spend showing the reasons they were attracted and liked eachother other than convenience would have helped me see it.

3 StarsI liked the idea of this story but the execution was a little bland. I'm not even sure this would be a HFN (much less a HEA) kind of story because nothing was alluded to for an ongoing relationship beyond a bit of summertime fun.

When the first word in the story is a curse word it seems like a cheap trick to lure potential reader to believe that some drama or action is going to happen. Just recently when I was checking LisAW stories and found another story that starts with a swear word. Is that some new trend? Hopefully no! I din't enjoy this story- it wasn't that bad that I wanted to smash my laptop, burn my books and never ever again set my eyes on written word*turns off drama queen mode* It is simple guy-meets-guy-and [...]

Starts off slow. I'm only at about 50% and still slow. Egh masturbation/fantasy sex. Blah does nothing for the story and kind of a waste of words for a short story IMO. I was hoping for more tension. This was they have dinner twice and fuck but it's "deeper" than just lust. But with how little they interacted and the only stuff mentioned was how hot the guy was its hard to see it as anything more than lust. I skimmed the sex scene it felt like I'd read it before a million times. This was all abo [...]

I'm normally a pretty big fan of the author's work, but I think in this case it just went too quickly. I always have issues with stories where upon first sight they spring a boner that won't go away and can't think of anything BUT the guy even if there is no indication of reciprocal interest. I just want to smack them upside the head and tell them to start thinking with their big head, not their little one. So it was okay, but ended abruptly (I know there is a sequel out or coming). I was kind o [...]

Cute story about a man trying to forget his family's rejection upon learning he's gay and the park ranger who stole his heart.

Read in May 2015This was cute. I liked it.

A short novella about Park Ranger Patrick and newly out Dan, who impulsively purchases a camper and decides to spend three months on sabbatical away from his architectural job. There's some insta-love, some hot sex and a HFN ending. Short and sweet - 3.5 stars.

3.5 starsThis was a cute, sweet short story that had some funny moments and lines, with some spice thrown in.

Fast, free, cute. Haven't decided if I'll follow up with the series or not.

A sweet and funny little story I wish there was more!

Great short story to read on a rainy day. This is book 1 in the Forestry series. My only problem was it ended to soon. I wanted more of Dan and Parker.

a quick little story continues in an equally little story---would have liked them to be a little longer and more developed.

Lovely short story.

Super short actually just the beginning of a story. It could be cute though. I was disappointed when it ended, I wanted more.

3⭐⭐⭐. A sweet short read.

Another absolutely boring, generic, and wholly unbelievable addition to the M/M romance genre that seems to be plaguing ebook purveyors everywhere. You want cliches, folks? You got 'em: Uber masculine love interest who is perfect in every way, timid gay protagonist who constantly worried that his hot friend is straight, lots of sexual tension, usually involving drunkenness and accidental hand touching, etc. And there's bad fiction sins here, too: wooden dialogue, bland description, limp and eye- [...]

There's nothing worse than trying to pretend to be someone you are not. What makes matters worse is the fact that when you do try to be truthful, to live an honest life, your entire family turns against you. This is Dan's experience in 'His True Nature' by Sylvia Violet.Dan is a good guy but he's discouraged and thinks he wants to be alone, but what he really wants is for someone to love him for who he is. Everyone in his life wants him to be someone he's not and won't support him, so he goes of [...]

This was a very cute story. I really enjoyed it. It could do with another proof read which is only reason why it doesn't have 4 stars. I love the build up of tension between Dan and Parker. The author has a way with words and I really enjoyed the writing style. Was this a novel escape? Yes (8 out of 10)Would I check out other books by the author? Yes (7 out of 10)Would I buy part two in the series? Yes(view spoiler)[ I could get a decent picture of what Parker looks like in my mind but I didn't h [...]

I kind of enjoyed my read. It wasn't bad, it was okay. And the guys are actually lovable. That said, one thing annoyed me.The main character rather irritated me. The second he lays eyes on the ranger, the most things he thinks of are the guy's hotness and if the guy likes him back or not and if he can have sex with the guy, up until they finally sleep together in a matter of days. That makes him feel like a pervert. Why doesn't he think about the probability of a new friendship being offered whi [...]

I grabbed this story randomly while searching for something to read. I was intrigued from the description and I have to say that I wasn't at all disappointed with what I got. This was a great, fast paced story of a man finding himself and love after not so pleasant time in his life. I really liked the characters and how they interacted. Even though this was a romance, I wasn't sure how it was going to finish out. But I can't get into my full thoughts on that due to spoilers.I'm looking forward to [...]

A sweet, Hot, short story that will hit home in a lot of lives. The story line is true to life and the characters are simple and loveable. Dan was thirty years old who just told his parents he was gay on his birthday. Like so many in Georgia, his parents and brother disowned him, but it was time to be who he really was. He was an architect, successful, but very lonely. After his encounter with his family he decides to take a 3 month sabbatical in the mountains, so he buys a camper and off he goe [...]

Dan is running scared for his 30th Birthday he told the Family He was gay, and there response was not good, so he left the house and walked past a Campervan For Sale on the spot he buys it, gets 3 months off work and heads into the wilderness. Where he meets a Ranger. Preston helps him set up his Camper and the next day sees his awful attempt at Fishing which ends in Dan falling out of the boat. He has mentioned in passing comments he was married, and this leads Dan to believe he is straight, bu [...]

This is a cute M/M romance about a guy that just came out to his family to terrible results and then decides to take a few months off to camp and figure out his life. Right away he bumps into the park ranger, Parker (the name is perfectly punny!) who is hot and a great guy that is lonely too. They hang out and get to know each other and it is cute as all get out. There is a sexy scene and the end, and a masturbation scene in the middle all in all, pretty vanilla.Less then 60 pages and free on All [...]

I really liked this story. It was sweet and had a nice progression of events and attraction through it. Dan, a home restoration specialist started with a horrible day that leads him to buying a camper and heading off for an extended camping holiday. He ends up meeting Parker, a ranger. Mutual attraction on both sides leads to some nice sexual tension and a delicious ending.Characters are nicely written and even though the story isn't very long, it tells a lot and doesn't feel rushed. I enjoyed t [...]

I grumbled at several places, such a an early series of events that showed the MC tripping, falling, or just generally being self-conscious and awkward during their encounters. It felt a little too much Bella a la Twilight. However, pacing and potential for growth will send me on to the next installment with a (smidge? too small. shred? too strong. a modicum? yeah.) some modicum of hope for improvements.
