I love those books, you know the kind, the ones that a reader can enjoy effortlessly, the funny ones with enough reality in them to keep a plotline straight and a few bittersweet moments that make you think just a bit, but won't overwhelm you. Fearless embodies all that so naturally. Maybe it's because of the characters who are all playful, smart and down to earth or maybe it's because of the writing style, which is always vivid and has an excellent flow, i don't know. What i do know though is t [...]

Personally disappointing to me, the moment I learnt that it was going to be a story (the kind I absolutely abhor and find distasteful) where a one-night stand comes back to haunt the couple in question. Academically, I know this tries to mirror reality, but of the sort where the consequences way outlasts an unwanted and reckless summer fling? No, thank you. The issues here are clearly mine and mine alone, of course, which I feel I need to add as a disclaimer. My sympathies lay wholly with Devin [...]

4,5/5 starsEnglish Review This book can be read independently from the first volume. There is a point at the beginning of the book that allows us to know that Devi and Ben met at a competition. Devi, Ryan and Jade faced Ben, Jett and Vaughn. The competition has materialized the romance between Ryan and Jett, but between Devi and Ben that does not change because Devi prefers to remain at the stage of friendship. Six months after this famous competition, they are all graduated: Ben, Jett and Vau [...]

Basically, I'm the kind of reader who will automatically side with girls in every book she reads. That goes until the heroine proves herself too difficult for any affection or sympathy. Like the heroine who's supposed to be courageous, a go-getter, fearless, but chickens out at the first hurdle. And then at every other, too. Someone who shoots herself in the foot over and over again.Someone who changes her mind about serious matters more often than her underwear. That's when I draw the line and [...]

Fearless is a stand alone novel by new-to-me author Shae Ross. I enjoyed it for it's hilarious, knock me over giggling moments, and it does have an HEA. (Happily Ever After) That being said, I'm pretty much on the fence with this book, so I'll tell you a bit more about what I did like about it and then go into the things that I did not.I enjoyed the characters a lot in this book, especially Devi. She is what I'd call the definition of Fearless and to me, this book is more about her than even the [...]

Our girl doesn't beat around the bush she puts it out there, “I’m going to take you home and eff your brains out,” I say." I loved that Ben was crying and that at times a girl just needed her man, "his door opens and he’s in the hallway, blinking. He takes a giant step toward me. “ What’s wrong?” He’s bare-chested, and his jeans are unzipped, hanging half off his hips. “Devi.” I lunge at him and he grabs my shoulders." I liked this book both characters were lovable.

This is second in a series and you really should read the other one first. A lot of the character interactions and emotional backstory are established there. Plus, it's a better story. It turns out that Devi sucks every bit as much as I thought she would. She's self-involved, which is particularly debilitating for someone with such low self-esteem. Her best quality is that she can deliver a decent set-down if cornered.Ben, on the other hand, is perfect. Which is its own problem, but at least it i [...]

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: A fun new adult romance that I enjoyed, but didn’t love!Opening Sentence: I’m standing on stage watching her strut in front of me with a beauty queen swagger. The Review:Devi Dalton is going to start a new life away from her dysfunctional family. She is moving to New York to live with one of her amazing friends and she is lucky enough to land a job that she absolutely loves! The only thing Devi isn’t looking for is to start a relationsh [...]

I received this book as an ARC through NetGalley and through the author Shae Ross. And in return I will give my honest review. First of all thank you Shae Ross for giving me a copy of this book! This is going in my favorites folder! I loved this book. Very well written and all the same characters from the first book plus much more background. I really liked the first book but this love story I just could not put down! The Children's center made me cry, made me smile, made me laugh my butt off, b [...]

I loved Fearless! I think it fused well with the first book in the Pretty Smart Girls series. Some of my favorite parts are:I’m as riled as a bull after the first missed pass of the cape. We’re walking down the aisle- two white girls from the suburbs, dressed more like we’re ready for a shopping trip to Nordstrom than an MMA event. “Do you really think lipstick is necessary right now?” “If she punches me in the mouth it will help keep my lips from splitting and I might as well look c [...]

This is the second book in Pretty Smart Girls series but like book one can be read as stand alone novel. Where book one had more fun-and-games tone this is more on emotional side and even better read. It doesn't mean there is no fun involved as we know Ryan and Jett like their games and those often involve their friends too. It made me laugh on occasions. Ben and Devi are as amazing as I had expected. With their sad pasts and family baggage, they are perfect for each other. Ben knows that but it [...]

This was a truly amazing read! Shae Ross is quickly becoming one of my favorite NA authors. This second book in the Pretty Smart Girls series features Devi Dalton and Ben Winslow. Six months of Ben trying to get Devi to give him a chance has gotten him no where. Now that they are both in NY again he doesn't plan on letting her push him away again but can one nights bad judgement ruin everything??This story is an emotional roller coaster that will grip your heart and not let go. I definitely reco [...]

While I was a fan of book I in this series, Pretty Smart Girls-Lace Up, I'm even more of a fan of Fearless. It was such a fun read. I haven't read a book that quickly in a very long time. From the settings to the storyline(s) to the ring, the characters Ben and Devin and their tumultuous relationship kept it interesting. Shae Ross did an excellent job highlighting Ben and Devin's story, all the while keeping the other characters from book I prominent.A definite read.

Brilliant - there are some authors who, whenever a new to me books becomes available, I just can't resist reading it asap and Shae Ross is one such author. When she asked if I'd like to read an ARC of her latest novel in the Pretty Smart Girls series I jumped at the opportunity - thanks to her for giving me the opportunity to do so in exchange for this, my honest review.I will say straight away that my high expectations for this novel were attained, I thoroughly enjoyed it and have no hesitation [...]

Wouza…. See Devi and Ben have been friend s for a while now. He had repeatedly asked her out she keeps rejecting him So one night when Ben makes the biggest mistake he ev [...]

3 starsFearless was an OK read.I'm torn on how to rate my feelings for Fearless, while there were lot's of parts I enjoyed I didn't like the added drama with Ben and it played a role in me not enjoying it as much as I would have had this not been included.Overall this was an emotional, sweet and at times an entertaining read.Thank you Entangled Embrace via Netgalley for the advance copy.

This book was really really good.Even though I have to say I liked the first one better because sometimes I didn´t understand Devi as character.

This is my first read by this author and I loved her writing style. I love it when I begin reading a book and I can’t put it down and even though it is after my bedtime and I can’t let it go. I loved the characters in this book they were a breath of fresh air. Devi Dalton was a woman that had endured a lot of things while growing up and now it was time for her to build her own life away from her mother and brother. She lost her father at a very young age and her stepfather didn’t care for [...]

In Book #1 we meet six young adults who were all competing in an "Apprentice" type competition - girls vs boys and both teams were ready to do whatever they could to win the final prize. What neither team counted on though was falling in love with each other , we had Ryan and Jett - whose story was in Book #1 , Vaughn and Jade whom I am guessing Book #3 will be about and in Book #2 Fearless it tells the story of Ben and Devi. Can opposites and different class levels really attract and work as a [...]

LOVE The cover so much, anyway thank you thank you to Entangled Publishing for my copy. They are my favorite <3 And now for my thoughtsASDJKFGFKJGKJGKGFKFGKGHKJHKJHGKJKGKGGFJ , i enjoyed this book a lot and at the same time i wanted to flounce. But i read through and skimmed (because of a plot point i just knew would happen).Devi is awesome and i love her attitude, it's refreshing to see female characters like this instead of the same redundant ones. Devi and Ryan's (Her BFF And Teammate) Frie [...]

Read the full review on Bookaholics Not-So-Anonymous.Note: This ARC was provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.Devi has an issue with committing herself to Ben, and it could have a lot to do with him being the one guy that means the most to her, thus meaning that he has the ability to hurt her the most as well. They both have family woes--he with his mother and three sisters being overly reliant on him, and her with her setting everything else aside for her mother and [...]

I received this book via Net Galley in exchange for a honest review. It was the first book that I have read by Shae Ross. Since I found the story to be unique, humorous, provocative and fell in love with the characters, I intend to to read Pretty Smart Girls Lace Up and am eagerly anticipating any future books. Devin hasn't had a great family life with her brother being a druggie and her mom constantly depending on her so now is her time to go to New York and shine along side her best friend. Sh [...]

Fearless is the second book in Shae Ross’ Pretty Smart Girls series. This novel picks up six months after the first novel ends. Ben and Devi are still flirting heavily with each other, and in the six months since Ben’s team won the entrepreneurial competition Ben has been trying to move their relationship from “just friends” to something more. Devi has her own reasons why she doesn’t want to move forward with Ben, but once they both find themselves living in New York it’s hard to say [...]

4 StarsI was given this book for my honest review“I took a step back because I wanted life to move in a different direction—a direction you weren’t ready for—but I can’t move forward without you. There is no forward without you.” BenBen-hot and sexyDevi-pretty and sweetAs a seedling is planted the growth over the years of caring, nurturing and love becomes evident in the seedlings growth. The spring of new leaves, the prettiness of awe as we look upon our creation that we know will b [...]

*I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*Ben and Devi meet during a competition against each other. From the moment they set eyes on each other, there's true chemistry, but Devi fights her feelings. So they end up the best of friends. Ben wants to change that. Due to Devi's past she isn't so sure a relationship with Ben would work. Ben comes from money and Devi doesn't. When Devi and her friend move into the same building, Ben gets an opportunity he will not pass up. [...]

Overall Stars: 5 STARSRomanceFighters/SportsIs it possible for two people whose attraction can be denied, remain friends or should they simply 'go with the flow'Devi Dalton won't let anyone hold her back. With the help of her friends, she's taken control of her future and traded her messed-up family life for a new job in Manhattan. Rating: 3.5 Stars♥ MY THOUGHTS: Devi is stubborn and determined to the point of frustration. She was amazing but at times she’s filled with insecurities.Ben on the other hand you will love without hesitation because of his patience and his ability to wait for her while he can have anyone that he wanted. He might have done something stupid, but completely forgivable!!!They were meant for each other, but the road wasn’t that easy. The journey was long and winding, and for a while, it had me [...]

I loved Fearless quite a bit. Shae Ross is another new author I'm glad I discovered.Devi Dalton is a force to be reckoned with, and won't let anything or anyone hold her back. With the help of her friends, she's taken control of her future with a new job in Manhattan. She refuses to let her messed up family life define her. Sexy, cage fighter Ben Winslow has spent 6 long months doing his utmost to convince Devi to take a chance on a relationship with him. When they're reunited in New York, he's [...]

Check out more of my reviews on my blog gemmareadstoomuch3.5 StarsFearless is the first book I have read by this author. I was lucky enough to be gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.I think this book is part of a series but I read it as a standalone and never felt like I was missing out for not having read the other book.Devi is a quirky character, what’s weird is that in the relationship between her and Ben she has the most stereotypically male characteristics. It’s [...]
