It's perfect! A sweet romance to curl up in a cozy blanket with. The characters are well developed even though its a novella. I felt a connection with everyone, even the servants! The conversation between Felicia and Victor is just right, not to much to make it unrealistic or cheesy but enough to keep you satisfied. If your like me, when you get done reading this book you will have a smile on your face and will be letting out a happy sigh!I will definitly be reading more by this author!By the wa [...]
This was a cute short story that had good character development. The story built well but ended pretty quickly. It was a clean regency romance that didn't take too long to read and was a good book to curl up with. I plan on reading more of the authors books:}
I listened to this on Audible, so my experience may vary from those who spent time looking at words on the printed page.I give the text three stars. This was a short, clean, regency-era story. I noticed anachronistic language used by several characters, but it didn't distract me from the plot. I liked the match-making mama aspect, especially since it was the Earl's mother pushing them together. I thought the ending came rather abruptly, with minimal conflict or angst, and no satisfactory grovel [...]
With no dowry left and no family to provide for her, Miss Scott takes on the position of governess. She must charm a spoiled child and a haughty, titled widower.These characters definitely behaved as I would expect them. Miss Scott was logical and practical. Her approach to dealing with her charge was admirable, although I'm not so sure it would have had such an immediate effect.The earl was nice and I liked his character development. I wasn't so on board with the romance, which was quick for my [...]
I'm always hesitant to leave less than stellar reviews - I believe if someone has conquered their fears and been accepted by a publisher they should get accolades heaped upon them! But this book needed a lot of help. The plot was sweet, the main characters had depth, but there was just so much lacking! A good editor and proof reader would have helped a great deal. There was also a lot of "telling" instead of "showing" readers in regards to backstory and emotion. I also felt like we were missing [...]
Couldn't handle the amateurish writingGuess others,are less demanding, else she wouldn't have any readers. Wish I could sit her down for some lessons because her characters have some life and the plotting is good. But the writing . made me kick it to the curb in five minutes.
Sweet ,Clean Reading. I absolutely love Recency Romances. This one is a very charming story. Well written and a very good read. Especially if ,like me you prefer the bedroom alluded to and not thrusting your face.
Traditional love storyFour star rating, because this was a short story, love story that was obvious as far as the ending goesSimple yet nicely done.
This novel was sweet and nice although I have to say the ending was really abrupt, and overall it was a bit short
As trite as the title, but decently written. Another hello, I love you - but with tears.
One of the worst regencies I've read in a while. It was cheesy, bland and monotonic.
This was more of a short story than a book I didn't realize how short it was since I bought it on Kindle. Wish the whole book could have been flushed out a lot more.
