Think I need to avoid some of her older books.
This is another rare book that I made it to the end and didn't like it. Part of the reason why I didn't care for this one was the narrator, she tried to do that sexy breathless voice that is just bad!! I would have given it up, but I wanted to know what the reason was Brin left Riley and we weren't told until the last disc, and at that point I figured I might as well finish this one. This is one of the author's older books so there were cliche's abound and some things that did make me laugh, lik [...]
I received this book ( among other books) as a gift.It was so dumbwhat a waste of time. Very short, plot almost inexistent, childish characters.
Supposedly a romance, but I don't see anything romantic about sexual harassment and domestic violence and intimidation.
Brin Cassidy is a television producer who brought "Riley in the Morning" to being the number one rated morning talk show. Jon Riley is the arrogant host of the show. Somehow, their relationship takes on a romantic side to the point of marriage, but eventually, they separate because Brin feels underappreciated. Honestly, Jon does come across as dense. About seven months after they separate, Jon turns up on the porch where Brin is house sitting for a while. She's hosting a surprise birthday party [...]
Yikes. This one was beyond awful. A lot of the early ones aren't great, but this one is super bad.
Fast fun read. Sweet love story.
I'm pretty sure I've read this book before. Besides the cover and the title appearing familiar, I have this image of Riley as a mule-headed, incorrigible, utterly charming and demanding character who always gets what he wants. It's hard to forget a character like that, so yes, I guess I have read this book before and, judging by the fact that I've remembered it after all these years, I can safely say that it is a memorable one. But then, aren't all Sandra Brown novels memorable?I'm a huge Sandra [...]
I received this book as a first-reads winner. Thank you Sandra! This was such a fun story. It was funny, sweet, sad, romantic, slightly suspenseful (only because I was dying inside not knowing what Brin's choice was going to be), and for lack of a better word - wonderful. This is a book that I will read again and again. My only regret is that the story was so short. I know, I know long could it be really? There are only so many hours between dusk and dawn. And really, she included quite a little [...]
I like Sandra Brown but this book was not my style. Its about a morning show where Brin meets Riley. Brin is the new producer and Riley is the star. At first Brin doesn't like Riley but as they start working together things change. After a few months the run off to get married. they click in every way. One day Brin doesn't go into work and Riley is worried so he tries calling her but no answer. When he gets home he finds a note stating she has left him. After seven months of waiting Riley decide [...]
I won this book from first reads. This was the first Sandra Brown book that I have read. The book is short slightly over five hours on audio book. The story is a typical romantic story. Brin leaves her husband for no reason or so it seems at the end of the book the truth is revealed and we get a happy ending. I enjoyed this book for the romance factor and will be looking to read more of Sandra Browns novels.
I saw so many low rating reviews and as I read this book I couldn't give an answer as to why they would rate this book so low. I found this book Charming and Fun to read but I enjoy all of Sandra Brown's books that I have read. This was such a fun story. It was funny, sweet, sad, romantic, slightly suspenseful. I was so very curious as to find out why she left her husband did he not treat her well? did they have a fight that led to her leaving? what happened.
I won this audiobook from First ReadsI do not know why I did not read (well, listen to) it before, because I am sure I would have enjoyed it more if I were a little younger.I thought it was a "light read" so I was not expecting a masterpiece, but since I did not like Brin that much, I was kind of disappointed with the book. At moments it seemed childish, but overall the story was nice.
I enjoyed this as a good old fashioned romance and you could tell it was an older book based on the sex scenes compared to current romances. I listened to it at work and it was a good light listen while working on things. It was a good length for a book that is strictly a romance at around five hours.
I won this book on tape from First Reads. Listening to this story reminded me how much I usedto enjoy books on tape. This book was an ok book for me. Riley is the host of a morning talkshow, and producer is his wife Brin. She leaves him, and I sure did want to know why?So one night he shows up at her door to find out.
It was a short book and I felt that there wasn't much of a storyline to it. I'm sure if there was more to it I would like the characters more but I just found them both a tad annoying. A little more about the relationship and a little more scandal would have me it more interesting.
This book was an impulse check out at the library. The editing wasn't great, the characters were too flat, Riley was veering dangerously close to abusive territory, and the big reveal (why she left him) was disappointing at best. However, this book was a mostly enjoyable, light, and quick read.
I liked this book for what it was - an easy quick read, a love story. It was extremely predictable and short - only 193 pages. When you have a spare 2 hours and don't want to read anything too deep and heavy, this book is perfect.
out of all of Sandra's books I have read this one the the worst.
When there are no better books in the SPA
I finally got hold of this book, thanks to earla. Can't wait to read it.
Heroine leaves husband without a word and he doesn't go after her. Finally he shows up in her new city and goes alpha male. The motivations were never clear to me.
Audiobook. Couldn't finish it. The narrator was horrible and the story was severely lacking. I never connected with the characters, in fact I actually couldn't stand them.
This really wasn't one of my favorite Sandra Brown books that I've read so far, but it wasn't bad either. I liked the story okay, so I'm giving it 3 stars.
This story was compelling. Helps people to see that love is blind
Kayaknya ini satu-satunya tulisan Sandra Brown yang tokoh2xnya udah merit. Dan sebetulnya saya suka banget nih tema begini. Tapi kok bener2x cuma adegan satu malem gitu sih? Males banget. :p
One of my all-time favs of Sandra's, I re-read over and over and never get tired of it.
