      DNF at 20%.This makes for the second book in a row that I entered a giveaway for and it wasn't the first in a series. I even looked up the book this time and I did not see that it was book two in a series behind the title so I entered the giveaway. I suppose "The thrilling new epic fantasy continues!" should have been the indication That being said, I really don't want to give this one a star rating.       The Witch of Torinia is the sequel to The Guns of Ivrea; if you liked that then you will like this. Like The Guns of Ivrea, the story is told through multiple points of view. There is rather less action onboard ship and more land battles and sieges, all described with an historian’s precise eye. There is a lot going on across the threads, with political intrigue, dark forces and dangerous creatures summoned by old magic, but the author keeps the pace up admirably producing a very competent, en [...]
