2.5Trent Pielmeyer got stuck in a ghost world for seven years and the only person who could understand him is his best friend Logan. Nobody would believe him anyway. Some even think he has been kidnapped or even tried to extort money from his father. After he tries to reconnect with Logan, he runs into Christophe Clavret, who has secret of his own. Christophe has to decide what to do about Trent's reluctance (to put it mildly) to anything supernatural. I liked how the events forced both of them t [...]
This review was originally written for Joyfully Jay Reviews, and can be accessed here; joyfullyjay/2016/10/review4.25 stars for this contemporary paranormal M/M romance. This book is the second book in the Legend Tripping series, and I think I enjoyed it more because I read Stumptown Spirits first.See, Trent Pielmeyer has returned from the undead. He was the roommate/hook-up of Logan Connor that got trapped in a nightly ghost war for seven years. Logan and Riley freed him from the macabre torture [...]
*ARC received by the publishers via NetGalley*This was such an entertaining read! I was interested immediately after reading the blurb (which, I guess, would have appealed to me even if I hadn't been a sucker for werewolves and other supernatural stuff). I was really glad to find some very interesting lore (which I wasn't as familiar with) to meld with a really fun storyline. I haven't read the previous book, so at times I was a bit lost when some past events were brought up, but it didn't take [...]
Wolf's Clothing, E.J. RussellReview from Jeannie Zelos book reviewsGenre: Romance, LGBTQIAIt wasn’t until I was writing this review that I discovered I’d read one of E.J.Russell's earlier books, an m/m romantic suspense :-) this book is very different in feel and longer than that one, but I really enjoyed both of them.I hadn’t read the first Legend tripping book, just the sample but there’s enough background given to let me follow what happened easily and get into the story and chara [...]
2017 Rainbow Awards Honorable Mention: Wolf’s Clothing (Legend Tripping #2) E.J. Russell1) The continuation of Russell's Legend Tripping series lives up the the guantlet thrown down by book one. Trent and Christophe manage to find their way to each other, despite their differences. I enjoyed Russell's take on the wolf shifter mythos. Unlike anything I have read before.2) The author creates intriguing plots and subplots, and interesting characters, all wrapped in a wonderful writing style. A su [...]
Loved it. Only 4 stars because I missed some more plot about Trent's parents. It didn't satisfy me, the little bits we got at the end. Same goes with Christophe, the breadcrumbs at the end were not enough.
Very enjoyable. This is the 2nd book of a series and I didn't read the first but it wasn't a problem. Now I look forward to reading the first one. Love the characters.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. That was abso-freaking-lutely awesome! When I discovered that Russell was releasing another book in the Legend Tripping series, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Upon reading the title and blurb – it was a must have! I was excited to see how Russell would develop a story around werewolves. And I was not disappointed. I’m not sure what I’m more impressed by – the fact that Russell has penned a truly unique were [...]
A marvelous find! A unique, fun, and unusual PNR. Highly entertaining! High quality blend of paranormal weirdness, sweetness, funniness, and great action scenes. It has alternating third person past perspective. I was intrigued by the summary and hooked by the first chapter.I stumbled across this novel on Netgalley and I am so glad that I did. I have never come across anything quite like it before. It certainly is the best werewolf-related paranormal romance (PNR) that I have read in years, and [...]
Wolf’s Clothing by E.J. Russell is the second book in the Legend Tripping series. It is currently scheduled for release on October 10 2016. I was somehow unaware it was part of a series until I started reading it. It did take me a bit to catch up, and I think that readers that have already read Stumptown Spirits will have a head start. However, I did catch up and full enjoy the novel despite the lack. For Trent Pielmeyer, the answer is run like hell. Run away from his hostile family, away from [...]
Review can be read at It's About The BookTrent Pielmeyer is done with the paranormal. He’s also done with his uncaring family. No one believes him. Yeah, he’s lying to them, but it’s more omission than anything else. If Trent is honest and says he spent the last seven years murdering a man then being hanged for it every night he’d never get out of a mental institution. Trent just wants someone who understands and can offer a little compassion. He decides to go to Portland and find his ol [...]
An interesting take on werewolves which I'd not heard of before, but which has basis in ancient folklore: (view spoiler)[the wolf cannot return to his human form without access to his essence as a man, which is left upon his clothing. (hide spoiler)]This book can be read as a standalone, but you might still benefit from having read Stumptown Spirits first, because there is quite a lot of reference to events which occurred in that book. In the first book, Trent is stuck as a ghost in a paranormal [...]
3.5 starsI enjoyed this book but not as much as the first one in the Legend Tripping series. This story focuses on Trent who was rescued by Logan and Riley in the first book. Trent is now trying to regain his place in the world but without much success.Trent's father doesn't trust him and thinks he disappeared for seven years on purpose. Trent has had therapy but he cannot get over the trauma of his time in the ghost cycle, he has no friends, and Logan who used to be his friend is living in Portl [...]
A Joyfully Jay review. 4.25 starsTrent Pielmeyer has returned from the undead. He was the roommate/hook-up of Logan Connor that got trapped in a nightly ghost war for seven years. Logan and Riley freed him from the macabre torture a year ago, and Trent is barely holding his life together. His homophobic father isn’t pleased to have him home—alive—and claiming his trust fund. He can’t confide in anyone about where he’s been for all this time, and he has no strong friendships. Adrift, Tr [...]
Oh, I really liked this one. I really wish that I would have picked up Stumptown Spirits first, but the good news is that other than introducing some characters, I don't think I missed too much.My first love, when it comes to romance, is definitely paranormal, so I've read my fair share of werewolf books. I love it when any paranormal book introduces a new twist on familiar mythology and Wolf's Clothing does just that.Beyond E.J. Russell's "twist", I loved Christophe and Trent together. The bond [...]
More like 3- starsI've been curious what'd become of Trent since I finished Stumptown Spirits and felt really sorry with the burden and nightmares he was still suffering months after the ordeal. The other bulk of the story focused on a different take on werewolf. Overall, I find the story more put together than the previous installment of the series. Although the issue with Trent's parents were not so clearly stated (more to all based on Trent's assumption, imho). On Christophe's part, the closu [...]
2.5 stars out of 5.You wouldn't know it, but this is the sequel to Stumptown Spirits (which was a piece of crap). I may have only given it 2.5 stars but in comparison to the first book, this was pure gold. For my full review see: catswhoread/20
