I like things that are a bit different, I want different things now, this was different in a way that it wasn't, really. This book of undead poems wasn't great by any consideration, obviously this writing exercise was cathartic for the author, clearly. This won't heal you but the words within are comforting. Some of the advice on letting go and getting better at loving yourself didn't irritate me, so there's that. In the end, getting consoled by words or something warm is the most you can for hop [...]

If you're looking for a poetry book to add to your collection, look no further. Alfa has blown me away again. Her first book was a chapbook, short and sweet. Abandoned Breaths is full and savory. and late at nightwhen you hit me up,telling me you miss me,and maybe we should     try againI know it is just lonelinessand familiarity. You need instant gratification, and you reach for your old   stand by.I am tired of feeding your sweet tooth, and then beingexpected to encourage yourdiet the nex [...]

Alfa writes "I used to be embarrassed of my broken parts. Not anymoreeven in pieces I am worth having." And these are the beautiful truths Alfa writes so eloquently throughout her book. She takes a hold of every piece of your soul with raw emotion and feeling as if she is writing your own thoughts. Exquisite words, wonderfully relatable to the reader. A must read.

Alfa writes her poems with maturity and experience. It is easy to connect to her words for her writing seems natural and effortless. Alfa describes love, heartbreak, sorrow, loss and healing all in one poem. That is her gift, how she can combine all these emotions and feelings in one poem or quote. There are plenty of quotes that you will read in this poetry book that are familiar from her social media sites. That familiarity in her writing is what makes Alfa so true. Her soul, her poetry, her q [...]

I absolutely love this book so much! I cannot say enough about how beautiful it is from every word down to every single font. Alfa is a beautiful soul and I can feel her heart in every word. This is a new favorite of mine and I will read it again and again.

Whew. Alfa. I've followed Alfa for some time on various social media sites, and her touching poetry and anecdotes always pause my rapid scrolling. It's a blessing to have her work gathered in "Abandoned Breaths" her debut collection of poetry, quotes, and prose. You won't find explorations and studies of the world here, no observational poems about nature or food or architecture; what you find here are poems that explore the human heart and soul. Alfa is noted for her romantic discourses on love, [...]

I liked this, but it wasn't the best I've read. Feels like I've read most of this before in typical tumblr style posts.

The cover is not the only striking thing about this book. There were several, several times that I put this book up against my chest to take a breath and try and hold back tears. Alfa is full of tender ferocity and this book is full of absolute wisdom, incredible imagery, and true, deep feeling.

I have followed Alfa's writing since I first came across it. She writes from great depths, those that all great writers and poets pull from. I honestly could not wait for this long anticipated release. Once I ordered and it arrived I read it immediately. Alfa never disappoints with her heartfelt, thought provoking words, of love and loss but more importantly, her words of hope and understanding. For anyone who enjoys poetry and written word, this is a must get book.

I received Abandoned Breaths by Alfa as a Giveaway winner.I would not consider myself a fan of poetry, but I thoroughly enjoyed this compilation of her works! Alfa effortlessly conveys her experience of love, loss, abandonment, self-discovery, and healing. There is raw emotion felt in every word. Even in the pain and suffering, there is strength evident beneath each line as she chooses to bare herself in the most vulnerable way possible to the reader. There were multiple poems that I found myse [...]

It's like Alfa's seen into my soulI bought the paperback last week but haven't received it yet and I just couldn't wait any longer so I bought the Kindle version today. I don't regret that decision for a nanosecond. Alfa's poetry is raw and real and it's like she reached right inside my heart and mind and soul and put all my pain to ink in ways I could never do. Thank you, Alfa. Thank you for making the journey through my grief right now less lonely and scary.

I have been following Alfa's writing for some time now, and her dedication to her craft is so admirable. I was so excited when I finally was able to get my hands on her debut collection. The book feels like a peek a boo in the writer's life. Like a friend telling you her stories, her experiences, hard life lessons learnt, her past, her fears and the undying hope with which she looks at the future. The pages are full of a woman who is telling her story unabashedly, honestly and whose story is ful [...]

Alfa’s debut book Abandoned Breaths took my breath away and then breathed it back in through my soul. There are few writers today who can weave words as artfully and authentically as Alfa can. She has a rare gift for revealing the deepest feelings and skilfully writing them into her gorgeous prose; feelings we have all felt, sometimes without knowing we felt them until a certain word flies off the page and slaps us across the face. I expected this book to be good but it has exceeded every expe [...]

The majority of this book was mediocre - worth maybe two stars. However, there were a handful of pretty remarkable quotes in here, so let’s just go with three. Quick, easy read but barely worth the time. (Especially because it’s loaded full of grammar errors; the then/than mixups had me cringing throughout the whole book.)
