Here's a little fact about me:Sometimes, I read history texts for fun. Okay, okay I admit it, it's more than "sometimes". Actually, it's probably a little more often than the average person. I can't help it, though. I'm just one big history geek. ^^Honestly, this may not be worth four stars. It was a little boring. Wow, I actually said boring when talking about a book on history. Big shock. But it could be perhaps that it was my mistake that I picked up something I already knew quite a bit about [...]

One of the brief yet well illustrated book I have ever read so far. This will be a suitable book for anyone who has a passive interest in the history of Egyptian civilization. After years of questioning myself why Egypt was well studied compared to other civilizations, I stumbled upon this book. It introduces the readers to all aspects of the Egyptian culture with illustrated high definition pictures. The history is narrated in a way that, the reader can relate to the present world or at least t [...]

It was a pretty good read on Egypt. It had a lot of pictures which was cool, and talked about different parts of Egypt, the different dynasties, their clothes, jewelry, agriculture, etc. I have watched a lot of things on Egypt, so a lot I had already heard, but they did throw in some stuff that is not as commonly spoken of, so that was nice. It was a good book to look through, when I did not feel like reading my main book.

Not kind of too in depth history of Egypt, but a lot of useful information and a lot of illustration. All in all, I think they got the general history of Egypt right in the place. If you want to have a better overall knowledge of this magnificent old nation, I would gladly recommend you snatching this book.

Lavish illustrations, nice clear text, but what impressed me the most was the fact that a lot of time was devoted to the actual history of Egypt. It's not just a how-people-lived-then book, it describes individuals, dynasties and periods, without being tedious.
