I'm on the hunt for a good--and easy--reference book on Walden/Thoreau/Transcendentalism for 5th grade teachers. I saw this displayed at the library and thought I'd give it a whirl. It offers a good overview of Thoreau and touches on where many of his writings come from. It wasn't the most engaging read, but it gave me the basic information I came looking for.
